With the Super Bowl behind us, it's officially draft season. The draft order has been set, save for a few spots that need to be decided by a coin toss.
This week, some of the better known names in mock draft circles are trying to be the early birds and have released their mock drafts to coincide with the further increase in mock draft page views.
Russ Lande from the SportingNews has released his first mock on his own website and has the Cowboys taking a corner. Evan Silva from Rotoworld also proposes a familiar name to man the corner spot.
ESPN's Todd McShay is another draftnik who thinks the Cowboys will be going after a corner. SBNation's Ryan van Bibber still doesn't know how to spell Terence Newman, but knows Newman needs to be replaced.
And finally, Chris Steuber, formerly of scout.com and cbssports, now runs his own website and surprise, surprise, also sees the Cowboys taking a corner with their first pick.
After the break, we look at who these guys are mocking our way.

| Analyst | Pick | Comments | Next five available players |
| Evan Silva, Rotoworld, (2/6) | Janoris Jenkins, CB North Alabama | During Senior Bowl interviews, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones pinpointed the secondary as Dallas' greatest area of offseason need. Jenkins is feisty and physical, fluid in the hips with ball skills and a willingness to hit. Assuming his background checks out after three marijuana-related arrests at Florida, Jenkins won't struggle to be a top-20 choice. He'd be a day-one starter for the Cowboys. | WR Kendall Wright, WR Justin Blackmon, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, OLB Whitney Mercilus, WR Michael Floyd |
|
Ryan Van Bibber, SB Nation (2/6) |
Janoris Jenkins, CB North Alabama | Every time I get to this spot in these mocks, the image of Terrance [sic] Newman matched up against the Giants' receivers in Week 17 comes to mind. Jenkins toiled in obscurity after getting the boot from Florida, but he got back on the radar with a solid outing at the Senior Bowl. | ILB Luke Kuechly, OLB Courtney Upshaw, OG Davis DeCastro, OLB Nick Perry, WR Kendall Wright |
| Todd McShay, ESPN (2/2) | Janoris Jenkins, CB North Alabama | Corner is clearly the Cowboys' top need area, and Jenkins proved at the Senior Bowl that he's still an elite cover corner after spending a year at the Division II level. Dallas will need to get comfortable with his character issues, though, including legal issues that led to his dismissal from the Florida program. | DT Devon Still, S Mark Barron, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, OT Jonathan Martin, WR Kendall Wright |
| Russ Lande (2/5) | Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama | No comments provided | DT Fletcher Cox, OLB Melvin Ingram, RB David Wilson, OLB Nick Perry |
| Chris Steuber (1/21) | Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama | No comments provided | WR Kendall Wright, OG Cordy Glenn, DT Michael Brockers, S Mark Barron, WR Michael Floyd |
So there you have it: five mockers, and each picks a corner for the Cowboys. But which one is the right corner for the Cowboys, and is that corner really waiting in the first round or will the Cowboys look for a corner in the later rounds?
For those of you keeping track of these things, Liz Mullen from the Sportsbusinessjournal today reports that the drug charges have been dropped against Dre Kirkpatrick.

If you think
either corner can be a starter week 1, pull the trigger. I would love either a CB or OLineman first round.
Dub_TC - February 6, 2012
Glad to see the charges dropped against Kirkpatrick
Also glad to see none of the mockers had us taking Kuechly, Brockers, or Upshaw.

JENKINS BABY
I would luv Jenkins he can flat out cover hd shutdown Julio Jones and aj green while at Florida.

Silva has Blackmon falling to 16 and Claiborne to 8.
I don’t buy it.
DeCastro’s our boy. RKG/BPA at position of need.

BigBad Joe - February 6, 2012
i dont buy it either
BigBad Joe - February 6, 2012
If Blackmon is available when we pick
Then we are trading the pick. We could really acquire some picks for that deal.
soonercowboy14 - February 6, 2012
If Blackmon falls, it's our advantage
If Justin Blackmon fell to 14, Jerry would be wise to stock pile picks for the latter part of the first and second. I love the idea of picking Decastro, but if Jerry is serious about secondary help, many of these corners will be available in the later part of the round, as well as S Mark Barron, who I really hope is on the radar.
montanastarfan - February 6, 2012
Unless Justin Blackmon or Claiborne
has pics and video come out before the draft showing them having sex with a donkey while snorting cocaine off a midget’s butt there is NO way either one falls that far. For real. that’s just a crazy mock draft! Heck, if Blackmon is there at 14 draft him! If Claiborne falls to 8 trade our first and second pick to move up and get him!
But no way does this happen in reality land, not with teams passing the way they are and trying to defend multiple recievers.
Tennessee_Jed - February 6, 2012
LMAO!
that’s some disturbing imagery.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
Starlover
If you think that’s disturbing just imagine the scouting report on Vontaze Burfict. He has super talent but the unpublished pics must be really bad to make him slip as low as prognosticators are predicting. I shudder to think what HIS pics must show!
Tennessee_Jed - February 6, 2012
True
I would believe that ESPN would get major coverage just by talking about that video if it is true.

Garrett will never select Jenkins, definitely not the RKG
Terry - February 6, 2012
1 mistake doesnt make a WKG
if hasnt had any more problems and openly admits what he did was wrong, wouldnt that in turn make him a RKG?
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
free agency will tell
What we do between the opening day of free agency and the draft will determine exactly what we do. I would like to Draft the best interior offensive lineman at that spot but if we sign Nicks that will give us the opportunity to look at another position or character flawed CB’s
P.N.Westernboysfan - February 6, 2012 via iPhone app
i agree i want the Oline all the way fixed
im just saying 1 mistake doesnt make a WKG. not owning up to it and not accepting responsibility for it makes a WKG. Jenkins did own it during the Senior Bowl
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
What about 4 mistakes?
From what I read, Jenkins has 2 arrest for fighting and 2 arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession. Now, it is absolutely possible he has seen the error of his ways and has turned a new leaf. He could very well be a RKG. that being, his record is far from 1 little mistake and it is completely reasonable to question what he will do once he gets that big pay day and will he get himself arrested or suspend, or otherwise have some kind of negative impact on the team.
Grimlock83 - February 6, 2012
i dont know if its 4 or 1
i asked this last week and i thought someone said 1. if its 4 then IDK.
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
also the fighting doesnt bother me that bad
i was young i got in a alot of fights, i grew out of that. the drug issues are different. if theres a single issue i can accept that, multiple issues is a differwnt conversation.
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
that's enough for me
Ya from what I understand there is more than just one mistake. It’s just not worth the risk unless he just blows us all away at the combine. Just don’t want anymore of those guys. The last thing we need is to draft a party pal for Dez to go runnin around with
P.N.Westernboysfan - February 6, 2012 via iPhone app
then yah, i just reread the rotoworld comments and it says 3 arrests.....
maybe i think itd be cool to have “the jenkins” as the starting CBs.
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
I'm troubled by 2 arrests for the same thing
It seems to me once you get busted for something you ought to be careful with respect to that specific crime. The 2nd arrest indicates either poor self-control, poor intelligence, poor decision-making, or just really bad luck. Any of those explanations doesn’t bode well for a new employee.
Evildallas - February 6, 2012
I'm so sick of the RKG crap
Yeah let’s keep collecting RKGs while the giants collect rings with a-holes like Jacobs and Rolle. Give me good football players 1st and foremost. The Cowboys have a lot of good guys on the team and that hasn’t gotten us anywhere.
houseofprime - February 6, 2012
RKG is not about being nice Garrett means RKG as in someone who is wants to win, loves the game and is willing to pay the price to win
Trueblue122 - February 6, 2012
yeah that's what he says every time he talks about it
the video on Cowboys.com he basically describes what he wants and says exactly that
Archie Barberio - February 6, 2012
You have no idea what Garrett thinks of Jenkins, and stop pretending like you do
Seanrude - February 7, 2012
Besides, I thought Jerry would never give up the power you are now saying he has given up
Seanrude - February 7, 2012
Enough
We need help in the trenches. Teams can have weaknesses but the most debilitating are always going to be Qb and linemen.
Get a corner in the 4th or 5th along with a reasonably priced vet free agent… We need linemen early, offense and defensive.
Mojoness - February 6, 2012
I wouldn't mind drafting Jenkins if
Coples, DeCastro, Perry, Ingram, and Kirkpatrck are all off the board when we pick.

BigDumbFace - February 6, 2012
This could go many ways. Really depends on who is picked in the 13 spots before us.
DeCastro should be the pick if he is still available, but he’ll probably be gone. It’s a toss up between Dre and Jenkins, but any number or D players could be targetted, Coples(doubt he’s there), Ingram, Upshaw, Perry. I think it will also depend upon the ratings of the CBs projected to be available in the second round. We might go DL, then CB. Get a guard or Center in the third.
We cannot neglect the OL, either in FA or the draft.
pfloyd1 - February 6, 2012
Lande has Upshaw going #32 Overall. Doesn’t even show Cordy Glenn going in the 1st round!
If those guys are gone, we could probably trade back a good ways and still get a quality T/G prospect late in the 1st and get an extra 2 and 3.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
If we have the cap space, we must use it wisely, but nevertheless, we must use it. Even if Nicks, Campell or Mario
are expensive, they are all young and if available, should be consisered.
pfloyd1 - February 6, 2012
JG said he liked it that FA was first so he could try and fill as many holes as possible allowing for a BPA approach to the draft.
He’s talking my language and I like it…please whisper more sweet nothings into my ear RHG.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
Red Haired.... Ghandi?
gershwin - February 6, 2012
Need a DL stud in the first
Brady said yesterday in an interview that pressure creates quicker and poorer decisions. So DL in the first then DB in the second and OL in the third
DCfootball - February 6, 2012
I can get behind that
Provided:
1.They also address interior OLine and secondary in free agency(need at least two new faces at both spots in my opinion)
2.There is actually a stud pass rusher available. If the braintrust signs off on Ingram/Upshaw/Brockers, or Coples should he fall, great, but the production ratio from that group leaves a little to be desired.
Alan Smithee - February 6, 2012 via mobile
If JJ has a shot at DeCastro and doesn't grab him, he's even crazier than I thought.
MeanMrMustard - February 6, 2012
Nope
don’t see them going with OL given the history, not while jerruh is around, plus they picked up a few OL guys last year not saying they are as good but got to let them develop to see what you have too.
DCfootball - February 6, 2012
All depends on Free Agency
But I like the idea of getting a top notch corner. If we can fill some other needs thru the FA market then I really like the idea of getting one of the these two guys.
Big50 - February 6, 2012
agreed it all depends on FA
id love to see Dallas with 3 good corners. if Jenkins is a “lockdown” corner im fine with Dallas taking him at 14. otherwise finish the Oline
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
We need 3 CB's this off season. So we need to draft at least 2.
Rena - February 6, 2012
deff agreed, 3 CBs
yehti - February 6, 2012 via mobile
I don't agree,
we have Jenkins and Scandrick and they both are better than average corners,
Musiccitynorm - February 7, 2012
They may be, but we need to replace Newman, Ball and Walker.
Rena - February 7, 2012
We'll need to replace/re-sign Jenkins after the 2012 season as well.
Don’t forget that. What’s cheaper drafting & developing another Jenkins or paying the Free Agent Jenkins?
StarloverinWNC - February 7, 2012
If Jerry was master of this draft
It would be a trick question where the answer would be to keep both. Hopefully we are dealing with the younger one if we have a Jenkins in 2012.
Jessy S - February 7, 2012
D-Line in the first, CB 2nd (since its deep), but these can be flip flopped.
O-line, DB ,maybe LB in the 3rd
Same as above in the 4th
5th – Hicks DT, pretty athletic for his size, needs coaching, but we need guys like this in a 3-4
I just don’t see them going o-line in the first, it is proven that quality starting guards can be found later and it’s harder to hit on great D-lineman and DB late in the draft.
Of course this all depends on FA, which I am looking forward to, as to which need is addressed first and so on.
A few days ago I posted a FanShot on “Draftee Success Rate by Position and Round Selected” it’s a good article a little dated (2006), but still relevant.
DCB* - February 6, 2012
yeah, that was an interesting read thank you for linking it. The jist being that you take QB, Tackle, & Pass Rusher early in the draft because the likelihood of finding one later in the draft is poor.
Sure it shows G coming from all rounds fairly equally, but when you have an unusual talent like Steve Hutchinson just because you ‘might’ be able to find a good Guard later in the draft doesn’t mean u should pass up on him. I’ll take a ‘sure-fire’ pick over a questionable pick any day. Doesn’t matter what position it is. Example…
Jenkins and DeCastro are both there. Experts are saying that both would be good picks for us @ #14. But would you rather have player:
a)player with the right measurables i.e.. height & weight, coupled with no off-field issues, and above avg intelligence.
OR player
b)player that is too short or doesn’t weigh enough, has major off field issues, & not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
All things being equal please give me the best odds for success with my #1 pick.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
Yeah
But the truth is that player A could be a massive bust while player B could be a Super Bowl MVP, a first ballot hall of famer, and the ESPN analysis that tells it like it is and sends Chris Berman into Therapy.
Jessy S - February 6, 2012
Well i'm not "high" on Jenkins so, if I had to choose between the 2...DeCasto
Absolutely agree,
We will see where we are at after the FA period and combine, but as of right now IMO I do not think they will go O-line first.
DCB* - February 6, 2012
in response to ^ (Star)
DCB* - February 6, 2012
Consistency is inside-out
Maybe I have a more conservative, old school approach to success, but I firmly believe that consitent success starts with O-Line/D-Line play. Cowboy fans have seen this work to perfection in the 90’s, and have seen the other side of the coin recently. If Decastro is available at 14, it makes too much sense. There are questions regarding CB’s offfield issues, and Claiborne wont be there at 14, so either trade back to take a gamble on Jenkins/Kirkpatrick, perhaps S Mark Barron, or draft the best OG (by a mile according to scouts).
montanastarfan - February 6, 2012
Unless someone huge drops ....
it is going to be offensive line (i.e., DeCastro)
The Cowboys aren’t going anywhere, even if they draft the second incarnation of Darrell Revis, if Romo is watching the offense from the sidelines because one of our interior offensive lineman let a 350 d-tackle break his ribs.
Anybody relying upon what ‘Jerruh’ or Ryan or anybody else says about what the Cowboys need should realize that draft season is upon us, which means nobody (except for Indy) is going to give anybody else a true read on who/what position they are going to draft. They are all liars at this point.
The Cowboys are going to go hard on defense (both DBs and D-line), but that is going to take a backseat to making sure the Romo has a clean pocket for the next couple of years.
Conn Cowboy - February 6, 2012
And that someone might be Andrew Luck
The truth is that we don’t know what Indy is going to do with their pick. Sure they might take Luck first, but it would be over Archie Manning’s dead body. Trent Richardson would be a good grab at number one because he would help the offense. If Luck would somehow fall to our spot, I would take him.
Jessy S - February 6, 2012
The truth is
We will all be shocked if the Colts don’t take Luck with the first pick.
The Colts want to rebuild that team, have gotten rid of Peyton Manning’s coaches, and have said they will go QB with their first pick.
If they keep Peyton beyond March 8th, they owe him $28 million guaranteed. That’s not going to happen.
Rohpuri - February 6, 2012 via mobile
I doubt that Archie Manning
Would let the Colts get rid of Peyton in any way, at least to a bad team. If they release him, then they will have a huge hit against the cap and I doubt Bob Irsay would let that happen, so the solution would be to trade him away. If that happens, Peyton is going to a more stable team which would eliminate everyone but Arizona, Seattle, Philadelphia, Chicago, Kansas City, and Miami. My guess is that Peyton either stay with Indy or become an Eagle with Vince Young and/or Michael Vick moving out west or going to Indianapolis. We just assume that since Andrew Luck is a good player he will be the top pick in the draft. Mock Drafts mean next to nothing right now. We still have the Combine, free agency, and Andrew Luck’s Pro Day at Stanford on the schedule. Anything can happen between now and the draft.
Jessy S - February 7, 2012
I don`t think we go corner early
this draft has loads of corners that can be found in the later rds.
I`m doing a gm mock and rep for the Cowboys.

Dan Koppen for experienced C
let Spencer walk, TNew, Spears, Ball Martellus Ogletree Brady James Brooking

Spears in signed to a long-term contract no?
I don’t really like Upshaw with the 1st rd pick of your mock. rd 2 & 3 sound good. Wish we could trade both those 4’s to get back into the 3rd.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
dang your right about Spears
oh well Jerry must know what he`s doing. Could still be cut but his cap hit next yr is 2 million and more than likely he will count more against the cap if we cut him which makes sense…he`s worth more Dead than Alive…strictly from a Football sense…nothing personal.
ziggy19 - February 6, 2012
Agreed about Upshaw
Have read that he is like Spencer 2.0.
99yard_TD_Run - February 6, 2012
C-
Upshaw has short arms, is fat for a 3-4 OLB, and is slow. Neat, he put up TFL #s against SEC teams who love to run the ball. But he’s slow at getting to the QB, especially at the Senior Bowl (1 coverage sack). I don’t care what he did against a grabage Jordan Jefferson, and a meh LSU option offense. Unless we play Tim Tebow 16 times, I don’t want him.
Rohpuri - February 6, 2012 via mobile

Rohpuri - February 6, 2012 via mobile
what`s gargage? my mock lol?
ziggy19 - February 6, 2012
oops garbage
ziggy19 - February 6, 2012
I didn't say your mock was garbage
I said making plays against a garbage Jordan Jefferson & other similar SEC QBs is not enough to take Courtney Upshaw.
Rohpuri - February 6, 2012 via mobile
Except
That garbage won the regular season matchup. Alabama should have never gotten a rematch to begin with and that should have allowed Oklahoma State their shot at LSU. Anyway, it makes you wonder if Courtney Upshaw is either a bust in waiting or not.
Jessy S - February 6, 2012
Jordan Jeffersons and that meh option offense are not common place in the NFL; unless we play Tim Tebow 16 times a year.
Rohpuri - February 6, 2012 via mobile
True
But all quarterbacks are scrambling quarterbacks so Courtney Upshaw is a possible pick for us. LSU did win the first contest meaning that Jordan Jefferson was a good factor for them. Anyway, the problem with Tebow right now is that he needs a receiver and maybe it would help if the Broncos and Cowboys trade picks so we both get our man.
Jessy S - February 7, 2012
This talk is if Upshaw falls of course
But Bleacher report has him in the top 10 of their mock. Still this is a defensive draft and the Broncos may want to move up. I wouldn’t mind picking at 22 as long as we get their second round pick or next year’s first rounder as well.
Jessy S - February 7, 2012
maybe I made a terrible pick!!!!
Courtney Upshaw (6-2, 271), senior, OLB, Alabama
Coming into the season, Upshaw was viewed—along with many of Alabama’s defensive players—as an elite prospect who will end up being a first-round pick. He plays Alabama’s "Jack OLB" in its 3-4 scheme and has been a solid, technically sound, productive player. The issue is where he fits in the NFL. Upshaw lacks explosiveness off the ball and pass rush skills to play defensive end in a 4-3 scheme. He’s not a good enough athlete to play off the ball as a true linebacker with lots of coverage responsibility. Upshaw, in our view, is a good college football player who will struggle to carry his production over to the NFL. That is why he is not likely to be as high a draft pick as many expected when the 2011 season began. Projected: Third or fourth round.

It was only a matter of time before the luster wore off from that BC$ Title game.
Rohpuri - February 7, 2012 via mobile
All I can say is that I am glad people are at least starting to pinpoint Dallas's defense as the unit that needs help.
I am hoping that DeCastro gets picked ahead of #14 so we are saved from drafting a guard there.
Creasy729 - February 6, 2012
Thats a possibility
I think DeCastro’s stock is only gonna rise once they get a load of this beast. He could’ve been starting in league last year for most any team. No surprise to me if he’s gone by then.
P.N.Westernboysfan - February 6, 2012 via iPhone app
I guess
Romo having broken ribs, a punctured lung, a nearly fractured finger & numerous other near injuries screams of more defense. Oh yeah, I guess we’ve all forgotten that he was an IR the season before. He needs to be protected first & foremost whether it’s DeCastro, Konz or Cordy Glenn. He goes on IR we’re done. He’s lost for weeks then it’s his backup for a while.
Like so many have said, we have to fix the trenches which include the OL. If DeCastro is gone at 14, then we could trade down to 20, draft Konz or Glenn, pick up a 2nd to get Ta’amo or the DT out of Clemson plus with our own 2nd get Josh Norman or FS Iloka out of Boise State who also has experience at CB.
99yard_TD_Run - February 6, 2012
That would suit me just fine.
But Jerry sucks at trading down.
Jerry sucks at TRADING period.
StarloverinWNC - February 6, 2012
The problem isn't the O-line only.
The Giants O-line is just as bad. Tony and Garrett have room for improvement if they want to become an elite offense. And, I am not advocating for completely ignoring the O-line. Of course I shouldn’t be surprised that so many people on here somehow think that if I don’t want DeCastro that I don’t want to address the O-line at all. Ben Jones in the second round to play center would address the O-line almost as well.
Creasy729 - February 6, 2012
If we could
get a DL in the 1st & C Jones, that would work too. Read somewhere that he’s looking pretty good.
99yard_TD_Run - February 7, 2012
If you look at Fernie's fanshot
on Sturm’s article, the Giants’ o-line was much batter than Dallas’ from December on. No coincidence that they turned their season around during the same time frame. Conversely Dallas’ line regressed considerably during the same period.
dunkman - February 7, 2012
*better*
although batter fits too!

Cowboys don't need another stupid player.......

Is’nt Rashean Mathis a free agent? CB Jacksonville
P.N.Westernboysfan - February 6, 2012 via iPhone app
I'm looking at Dre Kirkpatrick most of all
Did any of the Giants corners come in at 5’9? I’m sorry but 5’9 knocks you down draft boards.
AustonianAggie - February 6, 2012
won't be there
Here’s another guy who’s stock is gonna go up once the combine comes around. But that is the type of player we need at that spot
P.N.Westernboysfan - February 6, 2012 via iPhone app
the Giants CB's aren't that big
Webster isn’t big and he is the #1
Archie Barberio - February 6, 2012
5'9" is short
I’m hoping that the Cowboys target taller CBs that are talented, but also near 6’. Don’t know if Kirkpatrick will be around @14 but there are other CBs that are developmental prospects at 6’ or taller. We could get Josh Norman in the 2nd & in the 5th, 6th, 7th rounds we could get players such as Pellerin, Blanton, Fletcher or Marrow. All developmental guys, but would allow us to draft OL & DL in higher rounds. We could also get FS/CB Iloka out of Boise in the 2nd or 3rd.
Both Giants starting CBs are 6’ so that would also add credence to the thought of some that we should get taller CBs to compete w/ the likes of Megatron, Cruz, Manningham & other taller WR.
99yard_TD_Run - February 6, 2012
Isn't Jenkins 5'9?
Antonio S - February 7, 2012
the giants cb's aren't very good
In goal-line situations I feel like it makes sense to have taller defenders, but overall I don’t think there’s much evidence to suggest taller = better.
Asante Samuel and Cortland Finnegan are two of the best corners in the game and are listed at 5’10. Janoris Jenkins is very close to that.
Josh Wilson had a breakout year for the Redskins, and he’s 5’9.
Alan Smithee - February 7, 2012
I think Dre is a good pick - potentially even as safety
Some draft experts have discussed Dre transitioning to a FS role in the NFL because of his size and hitting ability. One possibility that I have not heard discussed, but that I think may make some sense given the potential depth of good cornerbacks in the draft, is to take Dre with the first pick and then be flexible about whether he plays at safety or cornerback. If a good cornerback drops to the second, like Gilmore, Dennard or Minnifield, you still take him (and take advantage of a strength of this draft) and upgrade two positions in the secondary with playmakers. This of course assumes we improve our offensive line and sign Spencer in FA.

Don't want Dwarf Doper at #1
Maybe this guy can cover but I don’t think he will; be much help in run support.
Might as well keep Newman as to get this JJ.

I don't care about run support for a corner. That's not his primary responsibility.

Actually Jenkins is pretty willing to come up and play run support.
His size wouldn’t suggest that, but he is definitely is not an ole corner.

How many double digit leads
Did we blow this season? DeCastro isnt going to help you there. If the D shuts down the opposing offense that makes us 11-5 winning the division going away. It also leaves the younger Mr. Manning at home and gets his head coach the chance to send out his resume.

Without Romo
we won’t win anything next year. We need to upgrade are interior line.

Wrong
We lost many of those leads because we couldn’t run the ball when it mattered. During the Jets, Patriots, and first Giants game, we were trying to run out the clock. In all thee games, we ran on first and second downs and got stuffed.

Absolutely Correct CC
If we get DeCastro or Konz or Glenn, our OL will improve. This means Romo doesn’t run for his life, pass protection will allow for passing routes to develop, running game will improve so Romo isn’t placed in a position to pass so much to increase the likelihood of interception due to his error or that of the WR. By prolonging drives, the defense doesn’t have to be on the field as long & is fresher in the 4th quarter instead of being fatigued & fail to stop anyone. Our defense is just worn out by the 4th quarter much like what our OL used to do to the opposing DL in the ’90s.

The funniest thing about seeing the RKG comments
Don’t you guys know that one of the biggest RKG Garrett knows is Michael Irvin? The Playmaker definitely didn’t have a clean rap sheet, but he loved the game, his teammates, and practiced his ass off to get better. So don’t be so quick to take guys like Jenkins and Kirkpatrick off the board.

Not sure where all the Upshaw hate is coming from.
He may be Spencer 2.0, but his college production outpaced Spencer’s playing against better teams.

The Upshaw hate comes from
The fact he’s fat, short, has short arms, and is slow.
He put up his neat TFL #s against garbage offenses in the SEC (outside of say Arkansas and Georgia, the QBs and Olines are absolute dog crap in talent).
Rohpuri - February 7, 2012 via mobile
well
Spencer had 21 sacks and 44 tackles for loss in 47 games; Upshaw had 16.5 and 35.5 in 53 games.

I think people are over-reacting about the line
yes we want a great line but the defense is the bigger issue.take a G in the 3rd,4th or 5th round. Defense wins championships. all the high powered offenses lost. CB, DL, and OLB need to be addressed in the 1st 3 rds.
