Alright I am poking my head out from under my rock to see what you fans might think about the potential cheap acquisition of Mr. Haynesworth.

Pro's
Big Body to help fill the NT Position
Moves Ratliff to DE
Could be signed cheap with incentive laden deal

Con's
Wasted roster spot to help develop a younger talent
Too much of a cancer in the locker room
Character issues

I know the Cowboys are famous for taking in players that have had less then desirable reputations... but there is talent under all that girth, its just a matter of can we whip it into shape, motivate it, and keep it happy yet quiet all at the same time?

You do realize the whole nasty mess that occurred in DC was because they went to the 3-4.

He hates the 3-4, it doesn’t let him put up the gaudy stats that got him his $100 million deal.
He has been dumped by his last 3 teams, all in the last year. Considering how he hates the 3-4 and what a mess he has been for his last 3 teams, why in hell would we even look his way?

What mess did he make in his last 3 teams?

He played well for Tennessee and landed his huge Contract.

He had a huge falling out with Shanahan over position to play NT or DE in Shanahans 3-4. Considering how we run a hybrid 3-4 and considering the success Jay Ratiff has had in his pass rushing, there is potential for Haynesworth to get what he wanted… more attempts to rush or being moved around in different positions for favorable matchups…

How did he disrupt New England? The only thing I heard out of him was that was was waived.

How did he disrupt Tampa? Again, only thing I heard was a few comments after being claimed… and being released.

Another thought...

I believe I read somewhere a while back that his knees are too weak to be an anchor in the middle for NT.

Not sure, but that goes into consideration.

If Bill Belichick

Is releasing you mid season somethings not right. Also Ratliff pass rushing has decreased each of the last 3 seasons. And I do agree it would be a different style of 3-4 he may actually fit, but no way we take on a head case of his magnitude which he would only he a progress stopper.

He was playing in NE like the video below shows.

4 plays in a row were as 1 writer put it, 3 of the worst plays he had ever seen by a DT. 3 of those plays he was easily knocked to the ground/out of the play with little to no effort on his part to do his job. 1 play he actually did his job. His DL coach pulled him to the sideline to chew him out and he got into a verbal fight with his coach on the sideline. He was cut a few days later.

Tampa, I only read a few stories shortly after he went there. They were negative in tone but I really didn’t follow him there. However the fact that they also dumped him says a lot. But you are correct that he may have simply been ineffective in Tampa, not a mess.

Opposite of an RKG

Albert Haynesworth is the living embodiment of an anti-RKG. He does not love football, as evidenced by his frequent lack of effort. Any assertion that he is a team player is laughable after he refused to play in a 3-4 defense after signing a $100 million contract to do so. As for personal character, he stomped Andre Gurode’s face — with cleats — at a time when Gurode was the Cowboys’ pro bowl center. I would lose a lot of faith in the Garrett-Jones relationship if the Cowboys signed Haynesworth.

He won't play for a 3-4. He claimed the Skins were treating him like a slave for trying to make him play in one.
Good point

The fact that he would analogize playing for a $100 million nfl contract (an impossible dream for many of us) to slavery (an utter abomination) is about as wrong headed as you can get and further underscores that he is not an RKG.

and he's not "forced" to do anything

he could quit football if he wanted. Heck, he never had to enter it. I think players have a lot of legitimate grievances but comparing it to slavery is the poster child for why athletes shouldn’t use twitter, talk to the public….etc.

I would lose a lot of faith in the Garrett-Jones relationship if the Cowboys signed Haynesworth.

Fear not, this guy won’t get anywhere near a Jason Garrett coached team

I read this comment that sums up Haynesworth...

“alberts problem hasn’t been his attitude only…it’s him being paid top end money for 2nd string talent, right price = a steal for a good DT off the bench”

No, once a quitter always a lazy pos.

Hahahaha

Point Taken!

Did you ever see Sapp go off on Haynesworth for this and other plays?

It was pretty funny. He was hollering, get up Albert, get up! The Haynesworth runs up and flops on a dog pile. Sapp was saying, this is what we call FOP, fall on pile. No effort required.

Carter at least gets a solid hit on Vick

If Haynesworth even bothers to try to get up.

As much as I don’t have feelings for the guy, he’s huge, maybe bring him in for a try-out. Just structure the contract right, If he doesn’t work out, cut his fat ass.

Go search on google for the "NOPE NOPE NOPE Cat" and watch the video

That’s my reaction to this. NOPE NOPE NOPE

Sorry, NO NO NO Cat ;)
Yep, WKG. I think we misapply that too often

but he’s lazy and has a bad attitude.

Not only no, but HELL no.
If they even attempt to bring in fat albert

I might just go into hibernation, all that preaching rkg, process, cowboy way etc type mantra will go out the window if they sign this useless piece of space.

They won't, don't worry.

Stephen and Garrett will veto that so fast your head will spin if Jerrah gets any bright ideas.

SMFH

Rinse and repeat

as if we don’t have enough problems.
