Each year, on the eve of the Pro Bowl, USA Today releases its All-Joe Team, celebrating "first-rate players who receive second-rate recognition."

Only players who have never been named to the Pro Bowl during their careers are eligible for a place on the All-Joe Team. USA Today displayed a keen eye for deserving players by recognizing Sean Lee and Laurent Robinson with nominations to the All-Joe Team.

Laurent Robinson is recognized for coming out of nowhere for an injured Miles Austin and scoring 11 touchdowns in 2011 after scoring only four in his previous four NFL seasons.

Sean Lee gets the nod as "arguably the best pass defender among NFL backers". Lee notched four interceptions last year and also amassed a team-leading 105 tackles despite playing the second half of the season with a cast on his injured wrist.

Previous Cowboys nominees include Bradie James in 2010, Anthony Spencer in 2008 and Jay Ratliff in 2007.

Pics like that remind me

That Vick is just one blessed play away from a horrible, gruesome, career-ending injury that leaves him in agonizing pain for the rest of his life. May it come soon at the hands of a Dallas Cowboy.

I don't wish this on any player

but I make an exception for Dog Killer.

I think he missed that tackle

Lee had trouble in that game until. Might be the play where he hurt his wrist.

Great so while I'm wishing hurt on Vick

my boy gets hurt trying to hit him? F’ing Karma….

Actually that one went like this

I think he got hurt when Vick dived on another play. I think the cowboys need someone who can match the eagles team speed.

Vontaez Burfict
And he's crazy enough to bite Vick's head off.
Yes he is
Interesting

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Dallas contended well with everyone they played except the Eagles, and it was all about not being fast enough.

Fanshot

Great news though, good that the both of them are getting some love from the press.

I thought the front-page guys get to post wherever they want.
they do

This is sarcasm text

Dangit

I gotta learn something new every day.

Dangit. Thankfully.
You’re welcome.

Not only are you some super computer OCC but you can see into the future too?
scoring 11 touchdowns in 20011
OCC is being metaphorical

about the very long and consistently productive career Laurent Robinson has ahead as a Cowboy.

Robinson is gonna play a loooooong time. He will crush every record Rice ever thought about having.
2 deserving recipients.
All that means,

Is that the price on retaining Laurent Robinson has gone up yet again.

The Alvin Harper Rule: Ignore it at your own risk

Remember how Alvin Harper left the Cowboys for the Bucs, who paid him the same money the Cowboys paid Irvin? The Bucs cut Harper after two seasons, 65 receptions and 3 TDs.

The performance of the second/third wide receiver in an effective passing offense is almost always based more on the offense they’re playing in than on their talent. Case in Point: Roy Williams. And countless others.

If a team chooses to overpay Robinson, then good for Robinson. But the chances are high that that team is not going to be happy with the acquisition.

Well said
This is the best season of Robinson's career, you will not see production like this again

I would love to keep him but ONLY at the right price.

I think he’s a huge huge injury risk, this is not a guy you can count on being on the active roster in January. This was also an extremely abnormal season. I think he will continue to be a healthy NFL WR (when healthy) but don’t expect 11 touchdowns ever again.

Good player, massive injury risk, great fit for Cowboys system. Keep him if he’s cheap, let him go if someone wants to pay him big money.

wow I shouldn't multitask

I think he will continue to be a healthy productive NFL WR (when healthy)

yeah i agree some people her want to pay him 5M per year

i really loved laurent but i think 2M per year is already much, but i would pay him that

Dez has all the tools to be much better than Robinson,

but Robinson is the better WR right now.

Robinson is more polished, runs better routes

so I would agree. But I hold out a lot of hope with Dez considering injuries and lock-out have limited his practice time for two years. And by the end of the season, he really looked much better to me.

Yeah, Broaddus was talking how much better Dez looked at the end of the season.
tj whosyoumomma, boldin etc
I agree with what you're saying,

And that Robinson was in the perfect situation for his talents. I’d imagine there is some GM out there – (49ers, Bengals, Carolina perhaps) that would overpay saying “If he could do it there, he can do it here, our QB is better”.

Yes but

They’re definitely NOT saying

our QB is better
in SF. Ha ha!

I like what LR said about wanting to stay

I’m hoping that is all genuine.

Sean Lee = Extremely good

This guy is the truth. Future pro-bowler and defensive cornerstone.

He'll have a "C" on his jersey in no time
Lee's is just the kind of guy we need with a C

My only fear is that he doesn’t look as big as some ILBs I’ve seen and I really hope he can stay healthy playing his brand of ball.

+50

Give the man a ‘C’

He really is

It’s gotten to the point where I’m astounded when he’s NOT in on a play.

and imagine what he's going to be like in his 3rd season with a healthy hand

He was this good with an injury that puts most players on IR in 2011.

I believe he could be the best linebacker in the NFL next year, I seriously think that’s a possibility.

I think so too, in fact

I was surprised he didn’t get more press. I’m also hoping Carter will be a good partner for him. If that happens, this defense will be significantly better.

Best linebacker in the nfl is a big thing....

One of the best* is very possible. He took a big leap from last year to this year. If he can do half that than he will be one of the best.

Carter is the question mark.

I know I'm going out on a limb

But this guy explodes so quickly into a ball carrier
He picks his way so effortlessly through blockers and has them wiffing at air
He intercepts all the best quarterbacks like they’re rookies

These are extremely high level skills.

He led all linebackers in interceptions and was only 1 tackle behind Ray Lewis in 2011 with a broken wrist and a club on his hand.

I’m telling you this guy is special.

Do. It. Again.

Not naysaying Lee. Merely pointing out 1, even 2-3, years does not a career make.
btw, bed, this limb should hold 2. Looks firm enough.
Sic ’em, Sean.

For sure the best draft pick Dallas has made since Ware
Congratulations!

Man, that is cool to see some recognition. May MRs Carter and Harris see their names up here next year.
And here is to Rohpuri’s thought about getting Lee a “C”.

anytime

the late Joe Pa says that a player is the best LB he ever coached you better believe that he is talking about a special athlete. He is smart, has good instincts, and the drive. Maybe not next season but soon he will be the best backer in the leave
