However this ends I’m proud of my team.
In the past they would have laid down.
Damn, it feels good to watch them scratch and claw their way into this game.
You’re on the 25. Now score. And let’s play this out.
A lot of us have felt this team is far more mature and strong than in the past. And they’re proving it.
I called them every name in the book in the 1st half. I called them cowards and bums. No heart. Everything. They’re making me eat my words. They’re actually playing hard from 21 points behind. When have we seen that in the last 15 years?? I guess the only thing you can count on from this team is schizophrenia. But at least we’re watching some good football right now
you shouldn’t be a schizophrenic fan. Gotta believe!
I myself was beginning to take masochistic pleasure in seeing the Cowboys get beaten. And hurdled, then beaten. But I secretly was hoping to see an interception and a few big hits on Eli.
espn_macmahon Tim MacMahon
Tony Romo: 24 of 29 for 261 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT. If Cowboys don’t go to the playoffs, it won’t be because of his bruised hand.
okay so there is no jinx i will offset the positive with realist negativity
hoepfully this d shows up and gets a much needed turnover. it only took them 2 and half quarters to take the field maybe it will take less for them make big plays
didn't Ware get that sack a couple of seasons ago when we beat undefeated New Orleans? or was that one of the other guys (honestly can't remember for sure)
You and me both. There are some really good ILB prospects in this upcoming draft
Better than last years prospects but Jerry thought he was getting a deal and getting one over on everyone else. Getting a 1st round player in the 2nd round. Jerry being cute again at the expense of the team
I know. It's like they have to talk him into a smart pick in the 1st round and in doing so they have to "give" him a 2nd round pick to play with
Like a child or something. Remember when they drafted Bennett in the 2nd round?? Jerry said they had to hold him back to keep him from moving up in the round to get him. He wanted him that bad
Hate to say it, because he has some decent stats this season. But he has been embarrassed so often, and so badly, that he needs to wander off to some other team next year. It’s like he’s no longer an NFL corner.
so its only halfway done but he has already gotten all the guaranteed(22 million) money. there’s now way he comes close to getting let alone earning around 25 million the next three years
And that’s the point. He hasn’t always sucked, and he’s had pretty good stats this year. He’s been a Cowboy his whole career, and that counts for a lot—especially these days. We should let him go respectfully…but we should definitely let him go.
It’s the same thing year after year, minus last year when the seasoning was over in October. I can’t understand Jerry Jones being so stubborn and not just resigning. I am as arrogant as people come but you still have to have c
why cant this team play a hard fought, smart, tooth and nail game and only be lost on a no time left, long ass FG,instead of blowing big chunks and looking like a complete CF,when it comes to nationally televised games?
Remember when they went to the Superbowl and won it? They weren’t elite like the Patriots. They aren’t elite like Green Bay or the Saints, either. The #1 seed hardly ever wins the SB. Just sayin.
Honestly what’s the most memorable thing Romo has done for this team? Throw a hail mary out of bounds? Fumble a fg snap in the playoffs and costing his team the game? Choking multpile times, giving up 30 point leads by throwing three interceptions in the 4th quarter? He sucks.
it’s like every bad play induces 5 people to write “game over.” yes, each bad play makes the game harder and harder to win but rarely does it equal game over.
A scary thought is that the team showed just enough will
to make it look like it is okay and dosent need to be tweeked too much and the thought that jerry might believe in this incarnation of this team because of the hope he might have seen. =\
Jerry will fool himself that he doesn’t really need to resign Robinson because Oglesuck can be just as good. And Spencer just needs another year in the RR system to learn it and then he’ll be a force. He’s young after all. Probably worth a $50 million contract. And who really needs another DE in a 3-4?? Coleman’s just fine and will only get better. Since Newman’s already under contract no sense in overreacting and cutting him. Give him another year of seasoning to get his feet under him. Ugh, ugh, ugh…….
good season. I would feel bad about the losses we should’ve had, but this team is clearly not that good anyway, that would only lead to playoff disappointment.
Luckily we pick 14th and have a 3rd place schedule next year. If we can somehow get a #1 cb in the draft or FA, we could turn this around
hate the 3-4 defense. Hate rob ryan. dislike JG play calling.
hate the GM. Hate the cowboys focus on playing with ‘swagger’[
Completely flawed team and premise. You get swagger from winning games which comes from practicing and playing hard.
You don’t feign swagger and tell everybody you got it like it is some gaudy pimp suit to be worn by trash.
Trashy organization, with misplaced priorities and misunderstanding of confidence and what it is and how you get it…they are lost until this element of their organization is changed. MY biggest worry is that it is endemic and simply part of the current DNA.
I’m not angry, I’m certainly not turning in my fan card, but I’m pretty crushed. We have a rebuilding team. Maybe we’re not ahead of schedule, but at worst we’re pretty much right where we should be. It hurts. A lot. But we’ll get better. We’ve got a lot of pieces in place, especially on offense. If we can piece together a smart draft, maybe a solid, cheap FA pickup or two, we’ll keep building next year. Having some extra coaching and a full offseason for our younger guys will undoubtedly help, too. All you can say right now.
If that's true, then we aren't a good enough team to go far anyway.
Seriously. We need far better play from our secondary. Murray was never going to get the Boys beyond the first round. And he needs Fiametta for full effect, anyway.
very few people expected SB this year. im as upset as anyone i thought 9-7 and compete for East. thats basically what happened. this Defense got old, that simple
Obviously you don’t know any of the facts about those games. Come by and visit us more often and educate yourself a little more before you post this nonsense. Romo was the star of the team once again this year.
For several years now. The best players are past their prime, and because of the lack of talent the defense is springing holes everywhere outside of Ware and Lee.
We’ve gone heavily with offense in the draft the last few years. If a team does that, they need to win a lot of 38-34 games, because the defense won’t be able to keep up.
Jerry Jones will bring back his boyfriend Romo and once again this team will go NOWHERE. If 13…. YES.. THIRTEEN PRO BOWLERS in 2008 wasn’t enough for the almighty Romo, NOTHING will.
This game had such huge implications for our future team
They lost this game and they lost so many games down the stretch that they’re going into the offseason knowing that they’re losers. They just aren’t any good
call the shots for a team that’s annually bad to average because the GM is underqualified or
step back and watch the team succeed with a real GM?
I wonder.
Once they got up far enought that they didn't have to worry about us coming back, I would have liked to see the Giants try an experiment
Have Eli turn around after the snap and hike the ball between his legs as far as he could and see how many passes he completed that way. I’m guessing he’d still have a 50% completion percentage.
I swear to God, this Romo bashing is some of the most uneducated football talk I've ever heard
This season is NOT on Romo. He stepped up and showed up repeatedly throughout the season, and people are talking like Detroit happened every week. The fact is, he showed up and his team let him down. Not the other way around.
The problem is that Romo's the only player with a record
When you hear about the December and January records it’s Romo’s record. It’s not Ware’s or Ratliffs but it should be just as much theirs and anyone’s. Instead Ware’s stats are thrown up to show how great he is and how he’s doing all he can do for this team and Romo’s stats are just garbage time numbers that don’t mean anything compared to the “record”.
Please tell us, wise one, how Romo is at fault when he gave the team a twelve point lead and it was lost in less than five minutes, then led them to field goal range and the field goal was blocked. Or how it’s totally his fault for turning into a sieve on defense in the second half for the second part of the season. This 8-8 season is on THE TEAM. Not Romo.
Romo is the QB, his play led us to 8-8 and no playoffs again.
Do you think the punter should take equal credit/blame for the season? Hell no, the QB position demands much more accountability than all others. Wake up and smell the fail.
He played thru broken ribs and bruised hand and got beaten this year because of the new O-line. The defense is couldn’t hold a lead 5 times this year. Is that Romo’s fault?
Yes this team has problems, but the difference between teams in this league is very small. Yeah the interior OL sucks, the DBs don’t make plays, but every team has problems, so get over it. If you do a couple of things different, things go different. Three plays in this game, the punt fumble that wasn’t recovered, the Romo miss to Dez on the first drive, and if Scandrick sees the ball on the prayer to Cruz. 21 point difference if those things happen.
You are so much smarter than the rest of us because you realized that this tema was destined to lose. All hail the Mensa. It is easy to hate.
I really would love to go back in time and see how this team would look had either Jimmy not been hired or had he not been able to pull off that Herschel trade
kind of interesting when the salary cap got instituted the Cowboys success started to get curbed dramatically
We had several opportunities to pull away in this division.
Honestly, we didn’t deserve the playoffs. We can’t win when we have to. We cant make a play when we have to on offense, defense, or special teams.
We still stink of mediocrity. It sucks.
The Giants swept us and won the title, period. I’d feel worse about this if I thought the Cowboys had earned it.
Look, all we can do now is look to the draft, look to free agency, look to coaching and personnel changes. Maybe an owner change? Jerry’s done a lot for this team, and he has made some huge mistakes as well. But it’s time for a fearless inventory of the team. I’m personally not convinced that Rex Ryan and Terrence Newman should survive it.
Of the two, only TNew’s departure would make me feel bad. Ryan is a loudmouth who can’t back it up. That’s minus 2 for him in my book.
If they franchise him as an OLB, Mario will get pissed since he’s really a DE and they make a lot more $$$. The Texans need to pay Foster and are already near the cap. Our other OLBs have played admirably in Phillips scheme, especially Connor Barwin and Brooks Reed. I wouldn’t be shocked if they let Mario walk as a FA.
Nepotism? That Barbie Carpenter pick was genius. I’d take the Jones family over Parcells. This team needs a GM lacking emotion, who picks completely based on talent. RKG is nonsense. Sometimes you want bad characters.
Well I am not disappointed. . I knew they couldnt beat the Giants. Eli Manning is 10x the QB Romo is and has been winning this year wih guys who were unknown.
I’m curious as to what direction you guys want the team to go in….Are you happy with Romo or do you want to see them rebuild and try to move up to get a young stud QB like Luck or RG3??
Newman has been one of my favorite Cowboys for a long time, but his time has come. Ball never was a fan, Elam just a role player need a true treat back there. The other guys have been sign long term so we’re stuck with them (smh)
And the reason why the Browns D under RR was so good, JOE HADEN shut down Corner, so don’t put in on RR, Put it on the GM
1) This team got worse over the course of the season (1-4 in their last 5 against mediocre competition)
2) This team had great QB play and squandered it
3) Whatever discipline was instilled after Wade’s firing was gone this year
4) This team went 2-4 in division, 0-4 against the mediocre Giants and Eagles
5) This team failed to even put up a fight in a game against a division rival with a playoff appearance on the line
me too, Thankfully I'm out of school for a few more weeks, hopefully by then the Giants are embarassed in the playoffs so I wont be subject to too much abuse
We need to overhaul our secondary…have Woick spend an offseason with the OL..we will get stronger there…i liked what i saw from Kowlaski…we need a stud CB in the draft…and get a safety in FA
You retards who bash Witten, just stop. It makes you look stupid. Also, this team might win three games without Romo. Two new cornerbacks, move Tron to Lt, Free to Rt, guard, dline are needed big time.
When Will Demarcus Ware and Anthony spencer learn to watch the ball and not the qbs cadence? I would love to see the stats, I bet ware has more penaltys than sacks this year
But whether or no we agree with you is a moot point. It’s not going to happen any time soon whether it’s the best move ever or not. I dont see the point in mentioning this in every thread.
They don’t go into it with a plan, they just take a collection of players that they grade out as the “best player available” (their grades are usually wrong) and end up with a conglomerate of crap they don’t need.
The problem is having a D-coordinator smart enough to take the best 11 players you can find and design a defense around them to put them in position to be successful. Call the scheme whatever you want to.
and you forgot ILB (unless you really think Bradie James and Keith Brooking have anything left), Dline needs an upgrade as well and the entire secondary needs to go except for Jenkins…….you dont change all of that in one year.
I’m just worried about which projected starters come in and just can’t play anymore. The window is closing on our core group. The studs we draft this year may just watch this current core grow old before they can piece it all together.
In this pass heavy league you need a stacked secondary
There’s no denying it anymore. Look at all of these QB records being shattered this year. Teams are passing more than ever. We need to get a stud CB in the first round to help out Jenkins AT LEAST…maybe another one in the second round.
I wanted Harbaugh, but the problem is Jerry will always hire a puppet so he can feel like he’s running things. He’ll gloat about what a great owner and GM he is when we win a game, then denounce the head coach whenever we lose. Perfect situation for him. He has all the authority and no responsibility.
When we do our interviews with defensive players at the combine
I’d just ask them a few simple questions. What’s 2+2?? How do you spell cat?? If I give you 2 quarters and then take one of them back how many quarters do you have?? Any of them that can’t answer those questions I take off my draft board. We don’t need anymore dumb Sensebaughs/Spencers. I swear I think I saw Spencer had written a big “R” on his right shoe. I guess so he doesn’t get confused
Sigh, Romo you do so much with so little blocking wise and defense wise
as a fan I’m sorry this organization has wasted so much of your time, I know you want a Super Bowl, hell I want you to lead the way to it. But with the issues at hand (Jerry Jones, the lack of good drafting, and less than mediocre passing defense) I dont know if you’ll be able to get there with this squad. I know you’re loyal, and I love ya for it, but if you wanted elsewhere I wouldn’t blame you. * reaches for more whiskey.
is that their first penalty?

Also, I think we lucked out. Every time I see the Giants have a 3rd and short our CB’s give them the short plus 6 yards in cushion. It’s insane
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
I thought that the player gets ejected from the game
if he throws a punch
troysboys - January 1, 2012
not if you play for the giants
DooSTan - January 1, 2012
problem was witten didnt run a pattern past 1st down back there
IRONRAVEN - January 1, 2012
should've bulldozed his way to the first, put his head on
he outweighs the other guy by at least 10 lbs
somebodyquiet - January 1, 2012
okay still in it
good field position, offense moving the ball, and getting them to make mistakes
things have gone so badly I can’t believe we’re only 2 TDs behind actually lol
scottmaui - January 1, 2012
We are playing our alter-ego team
2 teams that can’t stand success
jstaubach - January 1, 2012
c'mon offense let's go
somebodyquiet - January 1, 2012
Great field position
Ball’s at the 26. LOTS of time to go.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
Come on Boys punch this one in

beerman2619 - January 1, 2012

beerman2619 - January 1, 2012

Against the Giants?
Of course.
dave33 - January 1, 2012
yes
but will we?
scottmaui - January 1, 2012
that is not the question,
the question is, can the defense hold giants to 0 points in 11 minutes?

Fear the Star
However this ends I’m proud of my team.
In the past they would have laid down.
Damn, it feels good to watch them scratch and claw their way into this game.
You’re on the 25. Now score. And let’s play this out.
A lot of us have felt this team is far more mature and strong than in the past. And they’re proving it.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
So true
oldtimer - January 1, 2012
have to agree
regardless this team didn’t lay down in second half like past teams
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
Nice gamethread post.
dave33 - January 1, 2012
BEAUTIFUL
jakezze01 - January 1, 2012
You're right.
I called them every name in the book in the 1st half. I called them cowards and bums. No heart. Everything. They’re making me eat my words. They’re actually playing hard from 21 points behind. When have we seen that in the last 15 years?? I guess the only thing you can count on from this team is schizophrenia. But at least we’re watching some good football right now
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
No offense, kameleon_o, but
you shouldn’t be a schizophrenic fan. Gotta believe!
I myself was beginning to take masochistic pleasure in seeing the Cowboys get beaten. And hurdled, then beaten. But I secretly was hoping to see an interception and a few big hits on Eli.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
This D makes it so very hard to believe though
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
pass it Romo

espn_macmahon Tim MacMahon
Tony Romo: 24 of 29 for 261 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT. If Cowboys don’t go to the playoffs, it won’t be because of his bruised hand.

Except Newman is statistically our best DB this season.

That's like saying Saddam lived longer than Khaddafi

Joey2zs - January 1, 2012

Romo is going to have to run a 2 minute offense.

Twice
troysboys - January 1, 2012
and an onside kick
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Showed ratliff dragged to the ground by his shoulder pads again
Like it was some great play. Cruz looks amazing but if you have all day every body can look amazing. Collingsworth will propose to Eli after the game.
sixrings09 - January 1, 2012
19.5 sacks for Ware
You know, that terrible Ware who doesn’t do enough for our team according to some “fans” on this site.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
and that one right there was pretty clutch
scottmaui - January 1, 2012
he needs help
DooSTan - January 1, 2012
+1
somebodyquiet - January 1, 2012

ratware - January 1, 2012
Win or lose
This team showed fight in second half. Course i wish they would of shown more of this in first half.
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
can't forgive the first half
but at least they’ve made it entertaining
scottmaui - January 1, 2012
Yep.
How many times this year have we actually played 4 full qtrs in a game? Not many
jstaubach - January 1, 2012
i hate curz is playing with the giants, he's great
ratware - January 1, 2012
We need a KO return for a TD to get closer.
slimbig - January 1, 2012
okay Romo here we go spread it 4 wide!
go87 - January 1, 2012
Robinson could be our Cruz
DCfaninDSM - January 1, 2012

ROMO SUCKS.. Good Lord
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
go away please
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
agreed.
the easiest thing to do is blame the QB; the problems are elsewhere
ScottB1985 - January 1, 2012
Yeah, he sucks more than 3 QBs this season. We should trade him.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
Rodgers, Brees, and Brady.
But he doesn’t suck MUCH worse.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
what is romo doing?
tucsonbandit - January 1, 2012
whens the last time this team just had a 70 yard bomb TD?
where is Kitna and Felix when you need them to turn the lights out?
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012
When the line could block for more than 2 seconds
sixrings09 - January 1, 2012
Somebody gotta get open for Romo
troysboys - January 1, 2012
Cruz is a free agent....
R_C_D - January 1, 2012
If Romo weren't so good at scrambling,
he wouldn’t get sacked so much. Paradox?

BWAREofDWARE94 - January 1, 2012
That might be season.
And that was ugly.

3 bad plays in a row. Romo with some bad deliveries

BWAREofDWARE94 - January 1, 2012
You punt like I would
Thanks for contributing. Yeesh.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
Now we get a short kick?!
DCfaninDSM - January 1, 2012
Felix you gotta catch that
Mapmaker - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Jerry wants to go cheap on punters and get rid of McBriar this offseason. That's the real reason he was IR'd
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Jones just pulled a Mcbriar. Shanking the punt. wow
Dallas22 - January 1, 2012
well he had 3 great ones
so…I’m not gonna complain. His timing blows though
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
You have to go for it there
Its over now. But I’m glad we backed them up to our own 45
alec.brownscombe - January 1, 2012

we will go down swinging and scratching till the END !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
The 2 idiotic 2011 draft mistakes that are killing us
Bruce Carter instead of Steve Wisniewski (Raiders center)
Chapas instead of Hynoski
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Man I wanted the Wiz 2.0 on this team
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
I can agree with that
Those two would have made a positive difference in 2011
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
Wiz
Would have been awesome.
King Man - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
Yep
An injured project at LB over the best C in the draft. I didn’t like it then and like it even less right now.
Luke. - January 1, 2012
You and me both. There are some really good ILB prospects in this upcoming draft
Better than last years prospects but Jerry thought he was getting a deal and getting one over on everyone else. Getting a 1st round player in the 2nd round. Jerry being cute again at the expense of the team
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
It's hard to really know who's decision it was but it certainly seems like a Jerry move.
Can’t imagine Garrett wanting the injured project LB over a quality starting C especially as Garrett was gutting the old Oline asap.
Luke. - January 1, 2012
He wanted him that bad
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
It surely can't be that way...
and yet it does seem that way hahaha.
Holding him back from trading up for Bennett, good Lord, Jerry is a worry.
Luke. - January 2, 2012
He wouldn't move up for a Max Unger but he wanted to for Bennett. Unbelievable.....
kameleon_o - January 2, 2012
They need to just hog tie him and throw him in the janitor's closet on draft day and be done with it.
It’s the only way, because he’s not going to get out of the way voluntarily.
TXHC - January 2, 2012
how can oldman have any dignity after the way he ended this season
a season where he finally was healthy for the majority of it?
oh yeah he gets that fat check on Tuesday
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012
What was that a 20 yard punt?
Special teams fail. We will fire someone for this bull.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
Too many fails in ST all year.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
Boy do i miss Murray
huge loss there
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
The only hightlight of the season
was Murray and Robinson
Everything else was the same old “thang”
I Am still wondering how, Robinson got only 5 yards when McGee was playing.
sanhoo - January 1, 2012
good effort. at least they made a game of it when it looked like a blowout
Boyzfan94 - January 1, 2012
Maybe we can get them next Quarter
DCfaninDSM - January 1, 2012
loil lets just face it.....
there are waaaay tooo many screw ups on this team … period…..
IRONRAVEN - January 1, 2012
The Dallas Murphys do it again...
They mentioned McBriar was out, and of course it wasn’t an issue ALL game until that kick right there.
Pete222 - January 1, 2012
that 40 yard blind-folded hail mary, hang-in-the-air-forever duck that Cruz jumps up annd catches....ugh...that was a killer

DooSTan - January 1, 2012
I agree with most of you
This team needs alot of help especially on defense in the secondary
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
Game over,
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
no, once again Eli throws it up for grabs and the dallas secondary looks like clowns

Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Missed Opportunities, missed assignments are the story tonight.
We just aren’t good enough. We better draft CB’s in the first 2 rounds.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Well
so much for that.
troysboys - January 1, 2012
game, set and match...time to prep for the draft
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Game over
And Romo once again fails to take this team anywhere.
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
Not Romo you idiot
Elwood62 - January 1, 2012
Seems like the defense lost
the majority of games this year.
rawrrawr - January 1, 2012
Another great year, thanks Jerry Joines you asshole
Elwood62 - January 1, 2012
guess it's official...Good Lord, we need defensive help in this draft.

Really?
Did you think they would win 12 games?
troysboys - January 1, 2012
9
edubz - January 1, 2012
i pegged it at 8-8 all year
Boyzfan94 - January 1, 2012

jakezze01 - January 1, 2012
NEWMAN HURT YES
Stay down you overpaid piece of garbage
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012

He wasn't injured, by the way.
Just resting between humiliating episodes.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
hate to say it Im not sure we will be much better next year
our cap isnt very healthy and we need alot of help.
Boyzfan94 - January 1, 2012
OL playing together for a year could make a big difference
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
other than that, I agree, hard to have faith
unless a rookie steps up or somebody signs here for below market value. I’m looking at you Calais Campbell
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Garett is no head coach sorry.
DooSTan - January 1, 2012
And you're no fan.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
Eh. I'm leaning toward DooSTan on this.
Teams mirror their coaches. I’m not saying Garrett WON’T be a good head coach, but he’s not going to save the ’Boys anytime soon. Not next season.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
5 years as Offensive Coordinator
why should, we hope for something different now.
sanhoo - January 1, 2012
Gilbride knew how to attack our D early...
JG’s play design and play calling were again questionable…
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
Did he really?
Three missed tackles results in 3 TDs and he is the reason?
mtibus - January 1, 2012
Hope you're not badly hurt Terrance
just hope you’re fired
jstaubach - January 1, 2012
Yes.
Hate to say it, because he has some decent stats this season. But he has been embarrassed so often, and so badly, that he needs to wander off to some other team next year. It’s like he’s no longer an NFL corner.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
LaSt play of newmans career
DCfaninDSM - January 1, 2012
This was a rough season for us Cowboys fans
Following mediocre teams blows. They can get your hopes up when they play well and fool you into thinking they’re good.
KansasCowboy - January 1, 2012
last year was easier...LOL
BWAREofDWARE94 - January 1, 2012
yeah, it was easier to make excuses
now this year, we have a bunch of delusional zombies
sanhoo - January 1, 2012
i'd fake a injury to if i was you Newman
Your a bucking joke
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
If we can build time machine that will send a terminator back in time
….we might be able to win.
sanhoo - January 1, 2012
T-new has been a good Cowboy.
Try to hate a little less. It’s a problem with some serious personnel.
We’ll fix it for next year.

WayneLaR - January 1, 2012
Really?
With Jerry at the helm?
Baron Von Vondervon - January 1, 2012
you got to be kidding me
no he hasn’t really
beerman2619 - January 1, 2012
that was 03-07
he hasnt been healthy the last 4 or so years and the year he finally comes back healthy he looks 40 after half a season
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012
He is making 8 Mil this year..when was that contract signed ?
skalathil - January 1, 2012
right before the start of the 2008 season
so its only halfway done but he has already gotten all the guaranteed(22 million) money. there’s now way he comes close to getting let alone earning around 25 million the next three years
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012
I think we save $6 million under the cap if we cut him
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Yup, just like how we fixed it the last 15 years
sanhoo - January 1, 2012
RIGHT.
And that’s the point. He hasn’t always sucked, and he’s had pretty good stats this year. He’s been a Cowboy his whole career, and that counts for a lot—especially these days. We should let him go respectfully…but we should definitely let him go.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
that may be NEWMANS LAST Play as a Cowboy
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
Its unbelievable. Everytime a team doesnt play the Cowboys they drop easy passes, throw INTs, etc. When they play the Boys, its a highlight reel.
slimbig - January 1, 2012

Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
Romo?
Are you freakin nuts? He played the best game he could. No protection.

Just saying. No one silver lining this crap
It’s the same thing year after year, minus last year when the seasoning was over in October. I can’t understand Jerry Jones being so stubborn and not just resigning. I am as arrogant as people come but you still have to have c

Are you guys crazy?!?
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
LoL sounds Silly but people are blaming him. i will enjoy the last minutes of Cowboy Football.
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
why cant this team play a hard fought, smart, tooth and nail game and only be lost on a no time left, long ass FG,instead of blowing big chunks and looking like a complete CF,when it comes to nationally televised games?
jerryw - January 1, 2012
cant waite to see Newman cut
Adrock8998 - January 1, 2012
I don't care what anybody says, it's hard watching Terence Newman die like this.
I like the guy. He’s done though.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
he did a lot for us for a lot of years
but this is what happens to all football players eventually
scottmaui - January 1, 2012

TXHC - January 1, 2012
Yea it is .. I remember when I used to bragg about TNew being our best Defender
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
im with you on that
TNew has been a good player. He just isn’t even able to play in this league anymore. Sad to see it end like this for him.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
Same.
And that’s exactly what’s happening: we are watching the end of his career. He might go to some other team next year, but that’ll be it.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
I'm laughing at Collinsworth
He thinks that the NYG is a threat in the playoffs. Let’s have them face the Saints.
troysboys - January 1, 2012
But I thought Eli Manning was the best ever and always does everything perfect
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012

Romo is an unclutch, whiny and sucky QB tho

For me, losses by the Saints, Giants, and Pitt…
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
I dunno.
Remember when they went to the Superbowl and won it? They weren’t elite like the Patriots. They aren’t elite like Green Bay or the Saints, either. The #1 seed hardly ever wins the SB. Just sayin.

Good nite.
Oh, what could have been.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
Honestly what’s the most memorable thing Romo has done for this team? Throw a hail mary out of bounds? Fumble a fg snap in the playoffs and costing his team the game? Choking multpile times, giving up 30 point leads by throwing three interceptions in the 4th quarter? He sucks.

Well I did think this was an 8-8 team b4...
…the season started. Keep improving by two games per season and we’ll be in great shape by 2013.
And NBC spare me the giants praise. They just beat an 8-8 team to win the division at 9-7.
They’re not peaking at the right time at all.
gee-roj - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Just awful.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
Can we please ban the phrase "game over"
it’s like every bad play induces 5 people to write “game over.” yes, each bad play makes the game harder and harder to win but rarely does it equal game over.

If only he could shut his mouth and speak with some outstanding defense.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
Lissy I agree
football mensa - January 1, 2012
A scary thought is that the team showed just enough will
to make it look like it is okay and dosent need to be tweeked too much and the thought that jerry might believe in this incarnation of this team because of the hope he might have seen. =\
fishbonebui - January 1, 2012
naw its painfully obvious there needs to be upgrades
Dline and Dbs need upgraded hardcore
yehti - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Jerry needs to realize it's all his fault
The scheme was good enough, the players had enough fight, they just weren’t good enough.
Jerry is a bad GM that has put together a team that isn’t talented enough to win.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I know. I've thought the same thing
Ugh, ugh, ugh…….

hate the 3-4 defense.
MY biggest worry is that it is endemic and simply part of the current DNA.

scottmaui - January 1, 2012
That's about it.

It’s not his fault he’s got a bad oline

Jimbohts - January 1, 2012
He didn't personally choke any games.
Obviously you don’t know any of the facts about those games. Come by and visit us more often and educate yourself a little more before you post this nonsense. Romo was the star of the team once again this year.

Who’s not dealing with reality???
1 proud terp - January 1, 2012
And that was Romo's fault how?
TXHC - January 1, 2012
Of course, he only gets credit for 8 of the games, and no blame for the other half.
The man is the quarterback, and once again DID NOT GET IT DONE IN THE CLUTCH.
Save your excuses for another day, we’ll have a looooong offseason to hear them, again.
1 proud terp - January 1, 2012
This season is on the defense.
Period.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
It's not gotten its fair share of talent
For several years now. The best players are past their prime, and because of the lack of talent the defense is springing holes everywhere outside of Ware and Lee.
We’ve gone heavily with offense in the draft the last few years. If a team does that, they need to win a lot of 38-34 games, because the defense won’t be able to keep up.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
Defense didn't stop the Patriots...period.
Excuses are not appreciated anymore.

Ware easily gets 25+ sacks a year on the Steelers. A divorce would actually be better for him. Cowboys don’t deserve him.

he just isn't having the impact an elite player should

I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
Why Ware?

troysboys - January 1, 2012
furtonately enough Ware doesn't care about what you think of him
he just puts more than 10 sacks each season
ratware - January 1, 2012
I feel bad for Ware that he's stuck on this team
He could lead many other defenses to superbowls.
Instead he’s stuck on a defense that re-signs Scandrick and Spencer and drafts non-factors like Bruce Carter.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Just like Romo on offense.
He could win a lot of Super Bowls if he played behind an all pro offensive line.

The problem is that Romo's the only player with a record
When you hear about the December and January records it’s Romo’s record. It’s not Ware’s or Ratliffs but it should be just as much theirs and anyone’s. Instead Ware’s stats are thrown up to show how great he is and how he’s doing all he can do for this team and Romo’s stats are just garbage time numbers that don’t mean anything compared to the “record”.
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012

1 proud terp - January 1, 2012
There are 21 other starting positions on an NFL team
Perhaps you should look into what the other players do.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
more like 24 but the point is still valid haha
thebigham - January 1, 2012
No, you educate all of us
Please tell us, wise one, how Romo is at fault when he gave the team a twelve point lead and it was lost in less than five minutes, then led them to field goal range and the field goal was blocked. Or how it’s totally his fault for turning into a sieve on defense in the second half for the second part of the season. This 8-8 season is on THE TEAM. Not Romo.
me gusta - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Romo is the QB, his play led us to 8-8 and no playoffs again.
Do you think the punter should take equal credit/blame for the season? Hell no, the QB position demands much more accountability than all others. Wake up and smell the fail.
1 proud terp - January 1, 2012

1 proud terp - January 1, 2012
Romo had one of his best season statistically.
He played thru broken ribs and bruised hand and got beaten this year because of the new O-line. The defense is couldn’t hold a lead 5 times this year. Is that Romo’s fault?

kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Agree Ham,hate the haters
Yes this team has problems, but the difference between teams in this league is very small. Yeah the interior OL sucks, the DBs don’t make plays, but every team has problems, so get over it. If you do a couple of things different, things go different. Three plays in this game, the punt fumble that wasn’t recovered, the Romo miss to Dez on the first drive, and if Scandrick sees the ball on the prayer to Cruz. 21 point difference if those things happen.
You are so much smarter than the rest of us because you realized that this tema was destined to lose. All hail the Mensa. It is easy to hate.

kind of interesting when the salary cap got instituted the Cowboys success started to get curbed dramatically
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012

Honestly, we didn’t deserve the playoffs. We can’t win when we have to. We cant make a play when we have to on offense, defense, or special teams.
We still stink of mediocrity. It sucks.
jakezze01 - January 1, 2012
Make the cuts and retool
Will take us 2 more years to be reliably competitive
oldtimer - January 1, 2012
Correct.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
I think we should give RR a draft and offseason.
Woicik (sp?) should bulk some of these fools up. Idk if he can teach toughness, though. And that is what this team lacks

Arthur Harris - January 1, 2012
I expect Austin and Felix will miss significant time with injury
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
I expect Austin to continue to drop every other pass...
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
he dropped two on the drive where Romo was picked
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
Death and taxes and this!!!
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Janoris Jenkins, Mario Williams, Dave DeCastro
if you want to keep believing in this “win now” mode then you gotta make those acquisitions
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 1, 2012
How do you propose we acquire Mario Williams?
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
Put a gun to his head and assure him that either his signature or his brains will be on that contract
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Would he Texans let Williams go...
I think they’d franchise him.
troysboys - January 1, 2012
May be too much money...
Barwin has played well for them. They might go cheap…
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
There's a chance he may walk
He did sound like he wanted to keep doors open. But he is injury prone now
LordGav1n - January 1, 2012
Texans are asking themselves the same thing
If they franchise him as an OLB, Mario will get pissed since he’s really a DE and they make a lot more $$$. The Texans need to pay Foster and are already near the cap. Our other OLBs have played admirably in Phillips scheme, especially Connor Barwin and Brooks Reed. I wouldn’t be shocked if they let Mario walk as a FA.
Still Blue - January 1, 2012
Texans won't be able to match a monster offer for Mario.
He was a beast at OLB in Wade’s 3-4 before he got hurt. If he was in the same front 7 with D Ware, they would have to pass a rule against them.
FreedomRide - January 1, 2012
trade ratliff and ware
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
never get rid of Ratliffs contract
eightball - January 1, 2012
there getting to old to trade for anything worth it
DooSTan - January 1, 2012
ratliff not big enough and ware is invisible most of the time
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
Yeah, just ditch 2 of the 3 defensive players on this team
worth anything
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
yeah for draft picks
redraider21 - January 1, 2012

I’ve left a few times b/c it refuses to budge

I've had that problem too. I've had to close out my tab
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
This may be the wrong site, but SMART Cowboys fans:
Is hoping for Jerry to pass seriously the one solution we can resign ourselves to?
Salman - January 1, 2012
Do you really think Stephen is any better?
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
So...no solution then?
Salman - January 1, 2012
Get a proper GM
I don’t understand why people are so enamored with Stephen Jones.
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
Yeah but will he inherit the "I can be the GM/Owner" mentality?
I obviously hope not
Salman - January 1, 2012
Me too, of course
But the Cowboys FO needs a fresh break from the Jones family
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
Stephen is much smarter
he learned a lot under Parcells.
ScottB1985 - January 1, 2012
Such as what?
Nepotism? That Barbie Carpenter pick was genius. I’d take the Jones family over Parcells. This team needs a GM lacking emotion, who picks completely based on talent. RKG is nonsense. Sometimes you want bad characters.
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
Time to start over. The core will never win a bowl with this team. Sadly.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
sadly yes!core players are pretty much done

A heartbreaker as a fan
Heading to the airport and going to Phoenix for Stanford and OSU.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Why heartbreak?
The last Giants game was a heartbreaker. This is a disgrace.
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
As a fan it is a heartbeark. I still have 3 clients in the playoff and my contract scouting team is out of the playoffs.
As a fan it is still a heartbreak. I went to 14 of thier games this season
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
I can understand
But I don’t think I should feel too bad for the Cowboys. I feel bad for fans like you.
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
Well I am not disappointed. . I knew they couldnt beat the Giants. Eli Manning is 10x the QB Romo is and has been winning this year wih guys who were unknown.
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
whos miles austin? Laurent Robinson?
Eli 10X Romo? and Hakeem Nicks is a 1st rounder
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
He really isn't
put Eli behind Romo’s o-line’s over the course of his career, and he probably lasts 4 years as a starter
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
Dude, Eli was rolling out of pressure...AND MADE CLUTCH THROWS all game.
I don’t think the O-line will work as a “convenient excuse” anymore.
1 proud terp - January 1, 2012
Eli's never seen the pressure Romo has
on a consistent basis.
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
Collinsworth making his way to Giants locker room
To blow Manning and Cruz. Pierre Paul is so 3 weeks ago.
JoeWho - January 1, 2012

ratware - January 1, 2012
I also hope we don't do any more SNF-- I absolutely abhor Collinsworth

no playoffs
but the Cowboys are still #1 on the Forbes rankings
that keeps Jerry warm at night
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
Good game Cowboys fans...
I’m curious as to what direction you guys want the team to go in….Are you happy with Romo or do you want to see them rebuild and try to move up to get a young stud QB like Luck or RG3??
sexyscottish - January 1, 2012
I'd rather get a stud GM.
Jerry is the root of all this team’s problems…..
Baron Von Vondervon - January 1, 2012
I would prefer...up.
Wayward Irish - January 1, 2012
Romo isn't the problem.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
lol if i was Romo, Ware, witten, Ratlif, Tron,Robinson, Murray, DEz,id ask for a TRADE ! loil
IRONRAVEN - January 1, 2012
Must cut Terrence, Ball, Spencer
And I’d be all about seeing what offers we get for Felix.
jakezze01 - January 1, 2012
Ball and Spencer are free agents
Thank god
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Let them be free then.
JoeWho - January 1, 2012
Spencer will probably go somewhere and be All-Pro
eightball - January 1, 2012
no he won't
Trust me, no he won’t.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
i never understand why ball stayed here
ratware - January 1, 2012
understood
ratware - January 1, 2012
because we suck at drafting
So we had to keep a 7th round CB and make him a starting safety
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
cut them anyways. make 'em hitch hike home
jakezze01 - January 1, 2012
cant cut spencer...but I feel ya. Let the man walk.
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
Take care my friends and a Happy New Year
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Jenkins played a great game
Newman has been one of my favorite Cowboys for a long time, but his time has come. Ball never was a fan, Elam just a role player need a true treat back there. The other guys have been sign long term so we’re stuck with them (smh)
And the reason why the Browns D under RR was so good, JOE HADEN shut down Corner, so don’t put in on RR, Put it on the GM
djthumpl - January 1, 2012
we need a shutdown corner
eightball - January 1, 2012
8-8 is a fail
Because
1) This team got worse over the course of the season (1-4 in their last 5 against mediocre competition)
Don’t tell me 8-8 is ok because it was expected
redandy - January 1, 2012
Agreed.
Can we get Wade back as defensive coordinator?
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
I love Rat
but I think extending him may be a regrettable decision.
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
Extending Scandrick and Sensi is even more regrettable
thejanusman - January 1, 2012
the same GM will be in charge next year is even even more regrettable
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
Sign a 30 year old to a 7 year $48 million contract?
Sure, why not! How could that ever bite us in the rear?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Actually, Rat does pretty well
Just needs help on the line.
Why the goddamn reluctance to acquire a proper NT?
accidental innuendo - January 1, 2012
He does okay
but I think we extended him at the start of his decline.
NT seems to be a position where Jerry goes wildcatting
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
Yeah, we do that a lot. Just as soon as they're slipping we give them a wheel barrow full of money to stay longer
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
I agree - get him away from the double teams
eightball - January 1, 2012
Would like them get a typical nose and put Rat on end.
JoeWho - January 1, 2012
who runs a 3-4 without a NT
ball hawking safeties, 2 edge rushers and a shutdown corner
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
the Cowboys do... LOL...
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
correct
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
That is a typical insane Jerry contract
We signed a 30-year old nose tackle to a 7-year $48 million contract.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I am glad Rat got paid but it was one contract two late in the life cycle of a NT.
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
Soft Soft Soft Soft Soft Soft Soft
We need some nasty, and no more excuse makers.
1 proud terp - January 1, 2012

fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
What we need is like picks in the draft in order to replace pretty much the whole team.
troysboys - January 1, 2012
That was suppose to say 40 draft picks
troysboys - January 1, 2012
is there any way we can move up and draft RGIII?
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
Why?
He can’t help this defense
troysboys - January 1, 2012
would he want to play on defense? doubt it.

redraider21 - January 1, 2012

redraider21 - January 1, 2012
trade him and get Matt Flynn.
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
No.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
a real GM might at least consider that among other things
in other words, not applicable
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
There comes a point when you have to hit the reset button...
and get whatever value you can out of players that will be past their prime by the time you are done rebuilding…
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
Romo is what? 33? We need a new QB.
Brandon10 - January 1, 2012
33 and becoming quite injury prone...
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
33* should be 31
LDVFootball - January 1, 2012
That time is now.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
As a pragmatist...i kinda expected this...
We need to overhaul our secondary…have Woick spend an offseason with the OL..we will get stronger there…i liked what i saw from Kowlaski…we need a stud CB in the draft…and get a safety in FA
thejanusman - January 1, 2012
no we need a stud pass rusher and safety
see the steelers model, who are their corners? Exactly.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
You retards who bash Witten, just stop. It makes you look stupid. Also, this team might win three games without Romo. Two new cornerbacks, move Tron to Lt, Free to Rt, guard, dline are needed big time.
I Bleed Blue and Silver - January 1, 2012 via mobile
without romo, this team is 3-13 at best
i just think he has a losing aura (i think) about him
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
Yep.
Need to get a good S too.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
typical cowboys. they get within 7
and then get complacent and fold.
When Will Demarcus Ware and Anthony spencer learn to watch the ball and not the qbs cadence? I would love to see the stats, I bet ware has more penaltys than sacks this year
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
IT'S THE SECONDARY!!!!!!!!!!
(caps lock for emphasis)
Wayward Irish - January 1, 2012

Perhaps we should call them the “tertiary”.

4-3 people. Need to stop the 3-4 experiment. It hasn't worked in Dallas.

RA*9 - January 1, 2012
Parcells
football mensa - January 1, 2012
the scheme doesn't really matter if your corners can't cover
NerdVernacular - January 1, 2012
I know you're really behind this
But whether or no we agree with you is a moot point. It’s not going to happen any time soon whether it’s the best move ever or not. I dont see the point in mentioning this in every thread.
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
It's not a scheme issue.
It’s a personnel issue.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
it is
but I wonder if we would have better luck finding talent for a 4-3.
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
No, because we don't draft like that.
They don’t go into it with a plan, they just take a collection of players that they grade out as the “best player available” (their grades are usually wrong) and end up with a conglomerate of crap they don’t need.
TXHC - January 1, 2012
I know
sometimes any change sounds nice. I feel like our 3-4 is still a work in progress after 8 seasons or so
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
The problem isn't what scheme you play
The problem is having a D-coordinator smart enough to take the best 11 players you can find and design a defense around them to put them in position to be successful. Call the scheme whatever you want to.
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
so the season of hope ends
Full offseason with Garrett, Ryan with a defensively heavy draft
Full offseason with Mike Wocik
Full regular season with Miles, Dez, Robinson receiving corps
Full regular season with DeMarco Murray
Clean out the secondary, Tweak the O line
NFC East 2012
DonMoosavi - January 1, 2012
how do you propose we tweak the oline?
and you forgot ILB (unless you really think Bradie James and Keith Brooking have anything left), Dline needs an upgrade as well and the entire secondary needs to go except for Jenkins…….you dont change all of that in one year.
ManTab - January 1, 2012
I'm in
I’m just worried about which projected starters come in and just can’t play anymore. The window is closing on our core group. The studs we draft this year may just watch this current core grow old before they can piece it all together.

Especially the secondary guys.
The area that has been the worst thorn in the defense’s side for the past several season and they are the guys that get to keep their jobs.

Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012

it wasn’t as rough this year, and still 8-8, all those games we gave away i knew would come back and bite us.
djthumpl - January 1, 2012
I'll be happy if we can at least 4-5 wins in our freakin' division
RA*9 - January 1, 2012
no way....I dont think this team beats the eagles next year........nor the giants. too many wholes to fill.....and they dont have salary cap room
ManTab - January 1, 2012
wouldn't anyone?
Wayward Irish - January 1, 2012
the only benefit they get is playing seattle and chicago instead of arizona and detroit
they still have to play the NFC South with the Panthers on a rapid rise and the AFC North who also have three solid teams
and they still have to play their division that they just went 2-4 in and could be 1 missed kick and 1 botched possession from being 0-6
starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 - January 2, 2012
In this pass heavy league you need a stacked secondary
There’s no denying it anymore. Look at all of these QB records being shattered this year. Teams are passing more than ever. We need to get a stud CB in the first round to help out Jenkins AT LEAST…maybe another one in the second round.
WVCowboys_Fan - January 1, 2012
Rex Ryan is gone after this season
And another rebuilding year excuse for next season. 15 years of rebuilding by my count.

i would love to have jeff fisher, but that’s just me.
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
do you really think the HC is the problem here
there’s been a lot of them in the last 20 years and one constant
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
yeah
arizona, detroit, and the first giants game
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
that's inexperience
BP had plenty of that, how’d he do
Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
he's been here 4 years
redraider21 - January 1, 2012
No I don't want him back
I wanted Harbaugh, but the problem is Jerry will always hire a puppet so he can feel like he’s running things. He’ll gloat about what a great owner and GM he is when we win a game, then denounce the head coach whenever we lose. Perfect situation for him. He has all the authority and no responsibility.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
He hasn't denounced Garrett
yet. And he’s had plenty of opportunity.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
Jerry critcized his play calling against the Lions
Then did it a few weeks later against the Patriots. Denounce might be too strong a word, but not by much.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
True, I remember that after the conservative 4th QTR against the Patriots.
I always think it’s dysfunctional to publicly criticize one’s subordinates. But I don’t think anyone here would hail JJ as a paragon of virtue.

Cosbie Kid - January 1, 2012
so did mike singletary

Oops
on the Joes D thing, it was a miracle that the first punt wasn’t blocked clean as a result of his scheme
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
We could geet Kirkpatrick at #`13 or #14
And then maybe even Jenkins in the 2nd round. If not, then next best corner in 2nd.
3ed round: Best Pass Rusher or DT and move 90 to LE.
4th Rd. RB Oregon (Thomas?)
5th RD: Pass Rusher
6t RD Interior O-Line
7?
Then Pass Rusher

CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
a tweet from the game
might have been McMahon – the Dallas D aren’t smart enough to run Ryan’s scheme, or good enough to run a simple scheme
suggested Sensi often confused. Thought it was interesting
I_miss_Switzer - January 1, 2012
It's too true
They’re just dumb players. And there’s not very many of them that are any good. I count 5 players on D that I care about keeping. The rest can go
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
exactly. There isnt enough talent on defense
They need one or two down lineman, an outside backer, a new inside middle lb(hopefully bruce carter), at least one corner and one safety
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
I think if this team has a basic defenseive scheme, executed effectively,
they beat the Eagles and split with the Giants. It’s hard to dominate when you don’t even know where you’re supposed to line up.
VoldeMart - January 1, 2012
