The anticipation is building, I need the Cowboys @ Giants game, now! But, still a few more hours to go. Check out the late games this Sunday while we wait.
Giants forfeited game because Eli cut himself in his “learn to shave” class and he can’t make it to the game. And they certainly couldn’t go with Carr.
Aaron Rodgers is young and he’s never gonna be the starter there. I don’t think he wants to be a career backup, if he’s a UFA he’s gonna go somewhere he’ll get a chance to start
Of course he wants to win but who wants to say "Yeah, I was part of a winning team. We even won a couple of Superbowls. I was on the sideline while we did it. " He’s got a ring already as a backup. Now it’s time for him to go try to take a team to the big dance on his own. It’s hard to believe that some fans think an NFL football player, who’s probably played and competed at a top level his entire life, who’s been the best player on his team all the way up to the NFL for the most part, would really make a conscious decision to throw all that work away so he could be 2nd best and ride a bench.
so Seattle winning that game helps draft position.
GB winning helps too (hurts Giants + helps us). But I’m not sure if I’d rather play atlanta or Detroit if we do pull out the win. Actually probably detroit, I want a rematch for that friggin loss. Lets go Flynn!
I've been rooting for this, in case we lose tonight:
If Dallas loses (hopefully Santa gives Dallas an extra gift of making the playoffs), the Cowboys will be 8-8. Here is what needs to happen for Dallas to move up to the 13th pick (each occurrence moves Dallas one from its current 18th position):
Philadelphia defeats Washington (@ Philadelphia)
Seattle beats Arizona (@ Arizona)
San Diego vanquishes Oakland (@ Oakland)
Chicago wins one of its last two games (@ Green Bay and @ Minnesota)
Tennessee overcomes Houston (@ Houston)
Santa left Dallas a win-win scenario this morning

There are No guarantees picking a player at 13-14 .. Of course the odds are better but I much rather see a playoff appearance than a maybe drafting at the 13-14 spot
Ever since Dukes lost some weight and did the infor commercial for it
Hes been a stuck up angry A Hole.
A few years ago he had the show “put up your Duke’s” he had fun with it, cracked jokes, made fun of press confrences. Now its like he wants people to take him serious because hes a different man
i might feel sorry for all the crap he catches. if he were in KC or St Louis he wouldnt be so scrutinized. as far as being a QB though i dont feel bad. he’s just terribly average. he cant carry a team he needs a good defense and good run game.
Kragthorpe is still one of the best at grooming young QB’s and they just had a commit from the #1 high school prospect in the country who wanted to work with him. I know Kragthorpe was diagnosed with Parkinsons and stepped down as the OC but he is still very sharp and better than 95% of the others out there.
I got a couple of Cowboys buddies heading to a bar in downtown Manhattan. They don’t take very kindly to us up here (have you read some of the local papers up here? sheesh!). But, we pledged to stay as classy as we can and represent Texas well. I’ve been through a few of these up here and sometimes it hasn’t been pretty! Get our back, boys! We’re goin’ in…..
just make sure you have a clear avenue of escape....and be prepared to grab a bottle of vodka from the bar..stuff a rag in and light it to create a diversion...
lovely beaches….awesome mountains…was beautiful/…great place to vacation…spend a couple of weeks…as a caucasion tho you get a great deal of racism from the islanders and the cost of living is extremely high…that and i hated the 9 hours over water when flying to the mainland….
the native samoans have always calling to leave the USA
they care more about the asian tourists than they do about the us dollars….should have seen the panic when the yen lost value against the dollar a few years ago….
my boss where i work is a marine…a short one….have to watch how i push his buttons but we go back and forth all the time…really great guy but to his detriment is a pitt fan…..guess thats where the lack of intelligence comes in right?
Vick you watch, he is outside the pocket and they call you for a hit. Dalton, Sanchez and Ponder is what I see. It may be a perception on my part but they seem to get the “Iffy” calls.
Tebow just want's to make it interesting!!!! He's going to let KC move it to the 30 and then punt with just 2:32 left on the clock.
His punt returner is going to muff the catch and then fall on it at the 2 so he will have to take it 98 yards with 220 left on the clock and no time outs.
You know if they won this game, then we would be in the playoffs regardless, IF we had given a damn in the Philly game. (Still REALLY pissed about that game).
Why are you assuming the team just tanked the Philly game?
I thought the defense played hard, much better than round 1 although the pass defense was still poor.
Once McGee entered the game, it was over. We didn’t exactly light up the Eagles D with Romo the first game, and McGee can’t throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield apparently.
I saw a flat, lifeless team for much of the first half, after which the defense woke up
regardless of Tony or not. Both of our sets (O and D) of Big Uglies were horrible for much of the game.and who says the team has to give up when the backup QB comes in? I really despised that game.
I saw much tighter coverage and far better run D then the first game, even in the first half
Philly still was very effective, but i thought the D played hard. Honestly, our D is just not that talented.
I thought the Oline looked bad in large part because McGee was making awful decisions as to how he moved in the pocket. Romo makes a lot of those guys miss easily.
could the lack of turnovers and the time that running the ball move with Tebow at QB increasing the time that the denver D was on the field have anything to do with thier increased effectiveness....
more restructuring in our future next year then to try and get some free agents or another quiet year in that regard using the draft to increase the talent level?
Just did some reading because the Seattle/Arizona game is terrible
Sounds like the salary cap carry over rule is a real thing. So the Cowboys can carry over about $18 million of this year’s cap into next year and can get a $1.5 million salary cap exception. So we suffer about $25 million in dead cap but get to add about $20 million in salary cap exceptions.
So at the end of the day we should expect to have about 15-20 million in room to play with.
It’s over $18 mill I think. So even with the dead money we’ll have plenty to work with but so will other teams. Plus, I think we save like $6 mill if we cut Newman. Certain cuts could save even more for players that might not be back anyway. Also, this is all predicated on the salary cap staying exactly the same as it is this year which I’m not sure of. Here’s a link to a guy who breaks it down:
As a former player I understand certain superstitions
Through high school and college as a team we hd certain things we did every week. As a player I had one superstition I had. At the start of the season I had my family and friends sign a T-Shirt with thier name and a message. I wore it under my pads and did not wash it all season. Still have all off them framed.
wore em one day for good luck won that game so i wore em again. went 10-0 that year (JV). still wear em when i need luck..wore em to a job interview and i got it :D
I had this dumb ritual when I played semi-pro football
where before a game, I squatted down with my arms out and sidestepped left to right for a few minutes, I figured it’d help me being a lineman at the time (despite being really undersized for one, I’m sorry but being 245 lbs. ISN’T lineman size) But I was no. 2 on my teams depth chart and only started/played 3 games, the first game was awesome as I lead blocked for 3 touchdowns, but got overpowered on double teams and facemasked repeatedly with no flags on my next game. The 3rd game was average. But my awesome game was the only game my team won, so that makes me some kind of a “hero” i suppose.
He’s got the ball on a 4th and 9. From around their 30.
Why do you punt?
Just to not look bad?
Best case scenario if you fail to get a first is they kick a FG.
So it’s 10-3.
..and I’m not even a Broncos fan. If I had Tebow I’d never, ever punt on 4th and 1 from midfield, yet he does routinely. Also, I’d throw in a lot of random 2 point conversions just because I can.
I rather them be truthful so if it is effecting his play we know why. By lying you now open the door to Romo is a choker instead of a gut it out player that we know him as. Perception is not reality when it comes to him but alas they have their ammo ready
I'm looking at this rain coming down and am cursing Murray being hurt
We could use a running game soooooo bad right now. And I mean a tough, gut out a yard when you need it type running game. Giants have the advantage with Jacobs in this type of weather
this team is too inconsistent the defense has been awful we cant stop anyone and now Romo’s hand is worse than they led on, plus its raining
not feeling this at all
no longer do the cowboys lower themselves to the occasion they rise to the occasion! against all odds in pouring rain damaged romo no murray after being embarrassed by the giants they come through in the clutch with a resounding victory and defy all the odds.. dont lose faith chia just a few more hours
this looks bad. Romo’s history with hand injuries does not have me hopeful anymore. I was getting more and more confident as the week went on, thinking he’d be 100%
Did anyone else think Cincy should have gone for it on 4th & goal from the 4?
I thought so at the time, because I thought they’d have time to get a FG but not a TD later. I was right — though I’ll admit they probably should have gotten a pass interference penalty on the 2nd to last play.
They were down 11 with 4th and 4 and about 3 minutes on the clock.
They kicked the FG, then gave up I think 1 first down before they stopped Baltimore, then drove to around the 30. The last 2 plays were passes to the end zone that failed.
When you’re on the verge of going out and you finally get that good hand, you go all in…sure you might lose, but you’re probably going to lose anyway and that’s you’re best chance to get back in it.
I hope the team doesn't have the same attitude that im seeing here on BTB
I know its tough guys. We’ve all been let down so much this season. I know Tony’s hand looks like the marshmellow puff mans hand but we have to believe gosh darn it.
If you stop believing then you are no better than any player on the team that has given up. As fans, we can’t control anything about the game. But we can control our faith in the team. They are in a hostile place and they need all the support and faith that we can muster up, even if we aren’t there.
All we need is a little William Wallace Brave Heart belief.
We Ready
We got this boys!

Lot of interesting things happening with 7-8 and 8-7 teams today….
Wayward Irish - January 1, 2012
well I do know....
that it was good for dallas that Chi, Ten, and Philly won…..all move the Cowboys up in the draft if the Cowboys finish 8-8.
We need to root for Seattle and San Diego to win to move up 2 more spots. There was a fanpost on this about week 17 rooting interest.

Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012

why would you leave unless you were a selfish piece of $hit?

then go be a waterboy for someone. players wanna play and flynn will never play behind rodgers.

Exactly. Why is that even a question??
Of course he wants to win but who wants to say "Yeah, I was part of a winning team. We even won a couple of Superbowls. I was on the sideline while we did it. " He’s got a ring already as a backup. both have lost.

according to this link Arizona actually has a stronger SOS

Playoff scenarios always make me laugh. Tennessee cannot make the playoffs unless two teams with similar position in the standings WIN.

And that's with 6:00 left in the half.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
That's a team that can't wait to get off the field
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
i wonder if they would ever consider forfeiting the rest of the game..
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
GB beats the Lions without Rodgers. Interesting.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
and flynn does what rodgers never has
he’s clearly the second coming
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Still think NO will clean their clocks
oldtimer - January 1, 2012
The Bucs have quit on Raheem Morris.
42-0 in the 1st half? Not to mention getting drilled by carolina and Dallas.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
hey guys did Allen broke Strahans record ??? i
I Just got out of church lol
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile

kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Missed it by 0.5 sacks
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
thanx guys.. and uffff .. i wouldnt like for that clown to own the record..
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Hope you said a prayer for us tonight.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
I actually did. first time I do it too.
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Was it a "Hail Mary"?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
lol yea
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
No .5 short
oldtimer - January 1, 2012
The Bucs must fire Morris....
his team flat out quit on him.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
it's a shame
he’s a very promising young HC
somebodyquiet - January 1, 2012
He may be one of those guys that is a great coordinator but a bad HC.
Wade Phillips.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
not even a good coordinator though
he has a terrible defense.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Maybe with another team after he is fired on Monday?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
I Wonder If the Jets
fire their head coach.
Iowacowboy - January 1, 2012
Doubt it.
He keeps their fans interest up when the team doesn’t.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
42 points in one half.???That's just shameful, Morris.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
so if cowboys or giants lose tonight they are still in the playoffs?
go87 - January 1, 2012
No
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
yeah, whoever loses tonight will be the 6th seed.
go87 - January 1, 2012
no they wont.
whoever loses is done. where are you getting this?
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
oh yeah never mind.
go87 - January 1, 2012
atl and det are the 5th and 6th
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
atlanta and detroit will both finish with 10 wins..
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Whoever loses tonight is just the last team
to clean out their lockers for the season.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Funny
Iowacowboy - January 1, 2012
what about playoff losers
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
I'm talking about this weekend.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Look at the qbs in the AFC vrs NFC playoffs
Rodgers, Brees, Stafford, Matt Ryan, Romo/Eli and Alex smith
vrs
Brady, Hurt Big Ben, Flacco, TJ Yates, Tebow, Dalton
NFC teams have allot tougher matchups. Brady looks at the rest of the AFC and Bens the only one close to him and hes still hurting
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
epiphany.
sanchez is everything people accuse romo of being. people get them confused somehow.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
and jamie dukes is an idiot.
he just said NYJ wr’s are as good as any corp in the league
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
More like Daisy Dukes ... LMAO!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
lol Wow
I would take 2/3 of the other 31 teams wrs over the jets
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
Ever since Dukes lost some weight and did the infor commercial for it
Hes been a stuck up angry A Hole.
A few years ago he had the show “put up your Duke’s” he had fun with it, cracked jokes, made fun of press confrences. Now its like he wants people to take him serious because hes a different man
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
I almost feel sorry for Sanchez
I think the organization has let him down; that offense is so boring.
Iowacowboy - January 1, 2012
I felt that way for a while but I just dont think hes any better than an average QB now
He fails to ever throw the ball downfield. He gets allot of passes tipped. He just doesnt seem to make the little plays that add up in a game.
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
Sanches sucks
The only thing he’s good at is handing off
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
meh..
i might feel sorry for all the crap he catches. if he were in KC or St Louis he wouldnt be so scrutinized. as far as being a QB though i dont feel bad. he’s just terribly average. he cant carry a team he needs a good defense and good run game.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
The talking heads are all idiots!
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Wow I hope the refs tonight are as bad as the cincy game.
I think I saw the SJ wearing purple.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
just remember...new york jets 0 penalties......
thats all we need to know about how this game is going to get called tonight….
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
omfg
I forgot about that actually. UGHHHH
thebigham - January 1, 2012
On a side note
Jasonb is a ball licker.. That is all
scandrick32 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
we know this
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Yeah, old news.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
old news? Yes.
but it still deserves to be greeen
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
Well, he used to be a shaved ball licker,
now he is a hairy ball licker.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
He may very well lick both
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
so whats the over under on the picks that GB is going to get for Flynn....
after a game like that you would have to think he’d be almost as valuable as the 1st pick in the draft…..
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
hes a fa
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
not if GB designates him as a franchise player...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
And who will want to trade for his huge contract then?
thebigham - January 1, 2012
hmmm.....one could hope the Skins?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
Why would you hope that?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
cuz it would seem like one of the boneheaded moves that Danny used to make....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
why would they do that
they’re gonna let him walk they cant keep him
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
that would be the stupidest move of all time
Pay 15 million + for a backup?
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
arizona did it for Kolb....wouldn't be unheard of...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
no...
GB won’t franchise him, no one will trade for that contract. GB will be stuck with a huge contract
thebigham - January 1, 2012
i know...was simply making light of how well he played in one game....
somebody will try to pay him a fair amount as a FA tho you would think…
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
Yes there will be abidding war for him
but thats about it.
I am thinking 4 years 25 mil something like a rookie contract. for a top pick
thebigham - January 1, 2012
qbs are in high demand
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get ~8 mil a year for a couple years.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Why all the fuss over Flynn?
They played Detroit. Their defense sucks.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
hes done good before
also rodgers didnt have that good a day against the lions. he hasnt ever had that good of a day.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
That's exactly it. He's Matt Schaub sort of. Played very well when given the chance.
There’s going to be a team willing to throw Ryan Fitzgerald money at him IMO
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
i was originally making fun of how well he did..going with the second coming bit from way up earlier in the thread....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
theyre not paying that much for kolb
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
LSU needs to fire their QB coach
Lissyyyyy - January 1, 2012
Are you kidding and being sarcastic?
Kragthorpe is still one of the best at grooming young QB’s and they just had a commit from the #1 high school prospect in the country who wanted to work with him. I know Kragthorpe was diagnosed with Parkinsons and stepped down as the OC but he is still very sharp and better than 95% of the others out there.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
We'
I got a couple of Cowboys buddies heading to a bar in downtown Manhattan. They don’t take very kindly to us up here (have you read some of the local papers up here? sheesh!). But, we pledged to stay as classy as we can and represent Texas well. I’ve been through a few of these up here and sometimes it hasn’t been pretty! Get our back, boys! We’re goin’ in…..
manhattan - January 1, 2012
just refer to the fact that dallas fans have never shot themselves in a New York club b4....
should really open up the conversation….
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
or been arrested for statutory rape ala Lawrence Taylor
Oh, do they so like to paint the Cowboys as classless. Ridiculous.
manhattan - January 1, 2012
see, look what I just did. I did say I would conduct myself in a classy manner and there I go dropping THAT.
manhattan - January 1, 2012
What bar?
I should come out! haha
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Seattle ties it
Oakland within 8 now + Cincy within 7. Looking like AFC playoff race will come down to the wire
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
We're goin' in - part 2
FYI, it’s been weirdly quiet before this game up here. No ugly glares at the star. Dont know what it means…..
manhattan - January 1, 2012
means sit with your back to the wall......
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
haha. We’re sitting at the bar. Not good?
manhattan - January 1, 2012
just make sure you have a clear avenue of escape....and be prepared to grab a bottle of vodka from the bar..stuff a rag in and light it to create a diversion...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
we'll line up a few Bud bottles and be ready. Nice tactic, though. I do have my boots on tonight, though. Those can do some damage.
manhattan - January 1, 2012
ahhh...a good pair of steel toes are always good for shins....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
laugh in thier faces when we beat them.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
ay least we’re in Manhattan and not in the Bronx or New Jersey. You know that New Jersey is the actual home of the Giants, right?
manhattan - January 1, 2012
i always kinda giggle about that
cause the dallas cowboys are based in arlington.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
There is a difference from being in a suburb of your main city and being in a total different state....
thebigham - January 1, 2012
i know i know
but its still the same thing albeit not as big
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
hence the giggle and not a full blown laugh....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
no its not.
Its really hard to be in the actual downtown of such major cities. But you can atleast be in the same state.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
they're actually located in a different place then they're name suggests
sounds pretty similar.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
ok pal
thebigham - January 1, 2012
not unlike Washington Redskins.....they are in Maryland now...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
they share a stadium with another pro team – the Jets. Seems odd.
manhattan - January 1, 2012
tell that to a NY fan of either team and you won't make it out alive...
like telling a marine he actually works for the navy…
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
no no no
Marines work for USMC..
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
uncle sams misguided children
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012

TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
ah

kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
it was...except the year and half i spent under a pineapple field in hawaii....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
didnt enjoy hawaii??
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
hawaii was great....
lovely beaches….awesome mountains…was beautiful/…great place to vacation…spend a couple of weeks…as a caucasion tho you get a great deal of racism from the islanders and the cost of living is extremely high…that and i hated the 9 hours over water when flying to the mainland….
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
maybe thats why dog the bounty hunter got in so much trouble
when he lost it on that racist tirade..
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
the native samoans have always calling to leave the USA
they care more about the asian tourists than they do about the us dollars….should have seen the panic when the yen lost value against the dollar a few years ago….
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
its that big a deal to them huh?
shame
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
when you go there as a non native you are openly called "howlie"
means foreigner directly translated….has the same connotations as other less flattering terms tossed around…..
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
thanks for your service
mdlusk - January 1, 2012

I like it...
my boss where i work is a marine…a short one….have to watch how i push his buttons but we go back and forth all the time…really great guy but to his detriment is a pitt fan…..guess thats where the lack of intelligence comes in right?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
A friend of mine is going , 50 yd line seats 11 rows up (Giants side) $1100.00 each
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Nuts!
Best seat in the house and all the beer I want … no pesky Giants fan to deal with. 1100 each … even if I had Jerry’s money I wouldn’t go.
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
one reason I'll never go see a Skins game in Landover.....
not gonna contribute one penny to the funds of Danny Boy if I can help it…
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
TB has scored 18 unanswered to get back to...42-18
LOLOL
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
and how many fans did the Falcons pull out of the stands and put in pads before this happened?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
wait...how many fans did the Bucs pull out the stands to start this run?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
what a run!! LOLOL
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
How to lose in the NFL
Tebow takes an 8 yard sack after scrambling around for 5 seconds that takes them out of fg range.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
The clock has struck 12 on Tebow. His 15 minutes are up.
WayneLaR - January 1, 2012
LOL there's still like 10 minutes left in the game
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
He only needs 3 minutes and 4 pts... it isn't even Tebow time yet
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
Tebow's time is up and over.
He won’t even make it halfway through the season next year before he is replaced.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
he wont be starting anywhere except jax if there
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Wow, just saw a clip of the "roughing" they called in the Pats game. No one can
tell me Brady doesn’t get special treatment.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
Certain QB's in the league you do not breath on
I think it was Spencer who got flagged for touching him after a pass when Dallas played them.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
I remember that call, that was a joke
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
That call was simply outrageous. I realize this is Mr. Immobile we're talking about, but
he looked like he was pursuing the play; why shouldn’t the other player block him?
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
Block him?
Hell he put his hand on his chest as he was going by after Brady passed.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Which other QBs get protection? Just curious, since we know it ain't Romo.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
Peyton, Tom, Drew, Aaron, any qb not named Tony when the Cowboys play them...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
I haven't really noticed that honestly
Brady on the other hand gets seemingly every call his way
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Drew and Arron not so much
Vick you watch, he is outside the pocket and they call you for a hit. Dalton, Sanchez and Ponder is what I see. It may be a perception on my part but they seem to get the “Iffy” calls.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
youngins that they are trying to protect from getting killed?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
Have to agree
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Brady is 1, 2, and 3
No one gets league protection like Brady
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
the way if he gets touched and calls for the flag it gets tossed almost every single time....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
i mean its nice that Brees did so nice this year but if Marino was protected by all these rules that are in place now its a moot point....
that and the 5 yard yard for his WR’s….just think about how many yards he would have put up
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
We're not wearing the blue uniforms tonight..
Liars.
TooLegitToQuit - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Why concern on uniform colors?
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
We have a losing record wearing the blues.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Looks like white being worn by bailey in pre game war ups
oldtimer - January 1, 2012
Tebow's got another chance
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
probably won't matter since Oakland is losing.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
3rd and 5 and denver runs
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Well they have Tebow they surely can't pass LOL
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
Cmon Ravens, I DO NOT want to see SPitt with a 2 seed!!!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Tebow just want's to make it interesting!!!! He's going to let KC move it to the 30 and then punt with just 2:32 left on the clock.
His punt returner is going to muff the catch and then fall on it at the 2 so he will have to take it 98 yards with 220 left on the clock and no time outs.
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
is that 24 unanswered for TB
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
wow...took awhile for the guy sitting in the nosebleed section to make it to the field i guess...
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
This follows the "close in the 4th" rule
and Tebow is still undefeated in this situation.
We’ll see how it goes.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
hey TB has scored 24 unanswered...LOL
You know if they won this game, then we would be in the playoffs regardless, IF we had given a damn in the Philly game. (Still REALLY pissed about that game).
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
Why are you assuming the team just tanked the Philly game?
I thought the defense played hard, much better than round 1 although the pass defense was still poor.
Once McGee entered the game, it was over. We didn’t exactly light up the Eagles D with Romo the first game, and McGee can’t throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield apparently.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
I saw a flat, lifeless team for much of the first half, after which the defense woke up
regardless of Tony or not. Both of our sets (O and D) of Big Uglies were horrible for much of the game.and who says the team has to give up when the backup QB comes in? I really despised that game.
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
I saw much tighter coverage and far better run D then the first game, even in the first half
Philly still was very effective, but i thought the D played hard. Honestly, our D is just not that talented.
I thought the Oline looked bad in large part because McGee was making awful decisions as to how he moved in the pocket. Romo makes a lot of those guys miss easily.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
comes with experience.....
Garrett really should have gotten McGee more work that week leading up the game….maybe he would have performed better…
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
I don't think we intended to rest Romo
Ware played most of the game after all.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
did you see the PFF grades on the OL for the game?
awful
McGee just probably isn’t an NFL QB.
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
SD driving
a td here and Denver + Cincy are in.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
thought that tenn and pitt were the wild cards for the afc
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
they aren't going to score 18 more pts in the 4th
IM SORRY!!! LOL
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
no one thinks so
just think of the what-ifs, though.
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
RAY RICE!!! And Balt gets 2 seed ..F.U SPitt!!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I'd like to see Cincinnati get in
But I want the Steelers to be a wild card team much worse.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
I'm worried about ONE THING!!!! The Giants
Not one what if has ever won us a Superbowl!
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
Here comes TEBOW!!!! LOL
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
4/14 all game and I bet he hits a big pass going down the stretch.
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
Imagine Denver's D in Dallas
Fantasy football
Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
or any D in Dallas ,sadly..:(
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
the Allas Cowboys
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
I really wouldn't put a lot of value in the Denver D
They gave up 40+ to the Bills, Patriots, and Lions… KC doesn’t have any real offense so holding them to 7 wasn’t that big a task.
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
Dub_TC - January 1, 2012

Frank Walker?
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012

foyesboys - January 1, 2012
I dont get it.
He’s got to be hurt or something. Only way that could make any sense.
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
Is Alan Ball the 4th CB for this game, then?
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
well that makes Victor Cruz's assumption that they have the advantage against our CB's a fact then.....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
Holy crap
So that new safety better come up big, man silva?!
thebigham - January 1, 2012
TD Oakland
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012

Romo looked pretty good in warmups. Can tell he is jacked up and motivated. Ball had a lot of ip for warmups.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Great to hear, BD!!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
John Elway must be very proud
3 points, 3 freaking points. Tebowwwwwwwww!!
Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012

TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012

….and not Lord Tebow.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
that defense wasnt doing a whole lot before him..................
but yes they’re playing well
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
could the lack of turnovers and the time that running the ball move with Tebow at QB increasing the time that the denver D was on the field have anything to do with thier increased effectiveness....
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
and Peyton Hillis and Jay Cutler
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012

From up here it did not look like Romo had a wrap on his hand. Temp is not to bad so no need for a glove today.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Odds against Tebow here
starting at 15 with no timeouts.
The Raiders are still alive so this is a high pressure situation
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
roughing the passer
I hate that call, but its the rules nowadays
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
yep it is technically a roughing the passer
however i have seen it not called plenty this year
death of the cool - January 1, 2012

foyesboys - January 1, 2012
#12 get some hands
they’d have a hard time winning even if he caught that though
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Tebow loses
Bengals in, Titans out + Raiders playing for the division
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
And the Tebow legend dies at last
Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
The clock strikes 0.00 on Tebow Time

foyesboys - January 1, 2012

Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
for a new QB?
mdlusk - January 1, 2012
Amen
Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
Tebow and TO in the Arena League
I’d pay to see that
Hoosier Dave - January 1, 2012
good for Cincy and Dalton
although Dalton is dead to the media while pretty boy Tebow is praying all over the field.
Dalton has done a great job under the radar.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
feel bad for Oakland a little
Campbell + McFadden getting hurt probably killed their chance at the division.
Cannot believe they gave up all that for Palmer though.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Even without Al Davis the Raiders manage to be worse GMs than Jerry
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I know it's a bit early for off-season talk but...
What’s the salary cap situation for Dallas in 2012? Are we in salary cap hell because of all the cuts we made this summer?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I think we are like under 3mil or something small like that
thebigham - January 1, 2012
more restructuring in our future next year then to try and get some free agents or another quiet year in that regard using the draft to increase the talent level?
TruBluToTheCore - January 1, 2012
Just did some reading because the Seattle/Arizona game is terrible
Sounds like the salary cap carry over rule is a real thing. So the Cowboys can carry over about $18 million of this year’s cap into next year and can get a $1.5 million salary cap exception. So we suffer about $25 million in dead cap but get to add about $20 million in salary cap exceptions.
So at the end of the day we should expect to have about 15-20 million in room to play with.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I talked about this over on Raf's site
It’s over $18 mill I think. So even with the dead money we’ll have plenty to work with but so will other teams. Plus, I think we save like $6 mill if we cut Newman. Certain cuts could save even more for players that might not be back anyway. Also, this is all predicated on the salary cap staying exactly the same as it is this year which I’m not sure of. Here’s a link to a guy who breaks it down:

Cincy at Texans next week.
Cincy can win that.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
I'd be shocked if they don't
Houston may be starting Delhomme lol
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
good, NO 2 seed for SPitt!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Why is it a good thing for Rapelesburger to get the number 2 seed?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I said N-O as in NO 2 seed for Spitt, F them!!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I think he meant no No. 2 seed for Pitts
Baltimore winning clinched the division.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
Palmer lucky that wasn't picked
watching games with Tebow + Palmer back to back is sit through
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
and there we go!
season over. Denver hosts Pittsburgh
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
ugh, HOW can Denver win that one with this TERRIBLE O???
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
that one was picked
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
is tough to sit through*
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Oakland finished
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Anyone know next weeks tv schedule?
thebigham - January 1, 2012
They usually announce it after the late afternoon games are over
We should know the schedule by tonight’s game.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
I know just curious if it was leaked already or whatever
I want to take off work asap.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
If this is to be believed
This has us playing the last game on Saturday, assuming we win tonight.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
hmm that is weird
but would be perfect
thebigham - January 1, 2012
It would be weird
Because we play the Sunday night game on the road, then get the Saturday game after that. But it’s better than not being in at all, I guess.
kindablue - January 1, 2012
That's what your 1st and 2nd rounders got you Oakland
an INT machine that gives up the division to Tim Tebow.
Congrats on being the worst run franchise in the NFL.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
The ghost of Al Davis strikes from beyond the grave.
kwentin - January 1, 2012
Cmon Clowns, beat SPitt!!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
it doesnt matter
the Pitt game means nothing now
thebigham - January 1, 2012
true, but I still wanted to see them lose!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
It's probably been discussed already, but we're rocking the white UNI's. Just got a picture text from my buddy of Romo throwing.
GonzoBallSHU - January 1, 2012
sweet
sorry guys for spreading rumors that weren’t confirmed, I took bbv for their word
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Lisssy was talking about colors when I came back on. Not sure why Uni colors are a problem.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
blues are bad duh! ha
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Superstion?
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
As a former player I understand certain superstitions
Through high school and college as a team we hd certain things we did every week. As a player I had one superstition I had. At the start of the season I had my family and friends sign a T-Shirt with thier name and a message. I wore it under my pads and did not wash it all season. Still have all off them framed.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
Sounds similar to Jordan's college gear.
kwentin - January 1, 2012
i had underwear i wore with money all over them
wore em one day for good luck won that game so i wore em again. went 10-0 that year (JV). still wear em when i need luck..wore em to a job interview and i got it :D
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
among a bunch of other times
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
LOL. What is bad, or good, that is not the only time I have heard of that with players.
Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
lol superstitions can be good
it can give you confidence.. if something makes you feel better then it helps thats how i look at it
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
I had this dumb ritual when I played semi-pro football
where before a game, I squatted down with my arms out and sidestepped left to right for a few minutes, I figured it’d help me being a lineman at the time (despite being really undersized for one, I’m sorry but being 245 lbs. ISN’T lineman size) But I was no. 2 on my teams depth chart and only started/played 3 games, the first game was awesome as I lead blocked for 3 touchdowns, but got overpowered on double teams and facemasked repeatedly with no flags on my next game. The 3rd game was average. But my awesome game was the only game my team won, so that makes me some kind of a “hero” i suppose.
kwentin - January 1, 2012
Booyah!
I actually feel better hearing that. :)
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
I don't agree with Coach Fox
He’s got the ball on a 4th and 9. From around their 30.
Why do you punt?
Just to not look bad?
Best case scenario if you fail to get a first is they kick a FG.
So it’s 10-3.
I hate stupid Coaching.
bloodyhanded - January 1, 2012
+1 that was a bad decision
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
they had 3rd and 5 at midfield with like 5 minutes left
and ran the ball lol.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
He drives me mad...
..and I’m not even a Broncos fan. If I had Tebow I’d never, ever punt on 4th and 1 from midfield, yet he does routinely. Also, I’d throw in a lot of random 2 point conversions just because I can.
redandy - January 1, 2012
Seattle about to punt to Peterson
foyesboys - January 1, 2012

Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Not raining in queens yet, I'm going to get that before the storm gets over here

Chargers win!
Cowboys lock up #14 pick should we lose today.
Great great situation to be in. Win and we get the playoffs. Lose and we get a great pick.
I’m zen about this game. It’s good for the Cowboys whether we win or lose.
Zen zen zen. Go Cowboys!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
still have a chance that Seattle wins too....

Seahawks 30 yards to field goal range and victory
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
EVERYBODY
What changes do you hope to see in this game compared to the first game?
bitterlyhonest - January 1, 2012
A pass rush.
WayneLaR - January 1, 2012
Simply Win it!
Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
So if Arizona wins and Tony gets injured in the 1st half....
we get pick #13 in the draft right??
(not that we should lose of course.)
florida dodger - January 1, 2012
weather underground is saying 70% chance of rain in east rutherford tonight.
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012

Rex Pfister - January 1, 2012
I love how the Cowboys lied all week about Romo's hand
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Yes i saw somewherr his hand looks bad
CowboyWay - January 1, 2012 via mobile
you know
they should have just come out and said McGee was starting to throw off the Giants
idk, lying like that all week pisses me off
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Im a little pissed as well
I rather them be truthful so if it is effecting his play we know why. By lying you now open the door to Romo is a choker instead of a gut it out player that we know him as. Perception is not reality when it comes to him but alas they have their ammo ready
CowboyWay - January 1, 2012 via mobile
they lied again
It pisses me off, I am just never believing anything they say anymore, nothing
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
why would you give the giants the truth?
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
fitz is amazing.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
The Mediocrity of the AFC West is truly remarkable
three 8-8s and a 7-9. It’s hard to get more average than that
redandy - January 1, 2012
meanwhile we are 8-7
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
sadly, the NFC East is not far behind.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
lol
coming from an east with 1 9 win team, 2 8 win teams and whatever record the redskins have.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
True...just thought it made an interesting fun fact
redandy - January 1, 2012
I have no confidence for tonight
I hope I am dead wrong, but this is just getting worse and worse
hands not healed and not its raining
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I hate to agree with you but....
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I am just not feeling this at all
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I'm looking at this rain coming down and am cursing Murray being hurt
We could use a running game soooooo bad right now. And I mean a tough, gut out a yard when you need it type running game. Giants have the advantage with Jacobs in this type of weather
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
dang chia
very uncharacteristic of you.. you changed your sig you not confident. whats a matter?
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
just not feeling it
this team is too inconsistent the defense has been awful we cant stop anyone and now Romo’s hand is worse than they led on, plus its raining
not feeling this at all
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
perfect storm to start a new legacy!
no longer do the cowboys lower themselves to the occasion they rise to the occasion! against all odds in pouring rain damaged romo no murray after being embarrassed by the giants they come through in the clutch with a resounding victory and defy all the odds.. dont lose faith chia just a few more hours
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
idk man, idk
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
got the same feeling as u do Chia...
salas88 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Explains why Romo never said it was all healed up. He just kept promising he'd play.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
Romo's hand is still a blimp
great
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
yup
BS’d all of us all week and I believed it, I am never believing anything they report out of Dallas anymore
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I was skeptical
this looks bad. Romo’s history with hand injuries does not have me hopeful anymore. I was getting more and more confident as the week went on, thinking he’d be 100%
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
same here
they made the WR’s and TE come out and say he was throwing the ball great too
they made people lie, dont like that at all
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
where are you guys getting info
that his hand hasn’t gotten any better?
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
NBC
and Collinsworth said his hand was huge, he didnt want to shake it
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Yeah, I hadn't seen that yet
kameleon_o - January 1, 2012
Did anyone else think Cincy should have gone for it on 4th & goal from the 4?
I thought so at the time, because I thought they’d have time to get a FG but not a TD later. I was right — though I’ll admit they probably should have gotten a pass interference penalty on the 2nd to last play.
redandy - January 1, 2012
idk I didnt watch any games today
I watched like five minutes of the Jets, Saints, Broncos games, thats it
only one game matters
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
They were down 11 with 4th and 4 and about 3 minutes on the clock.
They kicked the FG, then gave up I think 1 first down before they stopped Baltimore, then drove to around the 30. The last 2 plays were passes to the end zone that failed.
redandy - January 1, 2012
I guess you kick the field goal
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
That's what they did...
I didn’t like it though….to me those are your best odds of getting the TD. There’s still a good chance of getting the FG on a later possession.
redandy - January 1, 2012
I would take the points too much time left
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I guess I kind of view it like Poker...
When you’re on the verge of going out and you finally get that good hand, you go all in…sure you might lose, but you’re probably going to lose anyway and that’s you’re best chance to get back in it.
redandy - January 1, 2012
spencer needs to have a big game
juniorb - January 1, 2012
yeah I am still waiting for that
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
OK, Who's the idiot that started everything today about us wearing the blue uni's?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
how about this, because its true
we have lost 7 games in a row on NBC Sunday Night Football
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
someone earlier said we were wearing blue unis when were not
thats what hes talking about
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
So we're due, right?
redandy - January 1, 2012
lol you would think so right
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
they've tended to be epic
Tashard Choice/Alex Barron game, Romo hurt against Giants, brutal losses to Packers and Eagles, collapse vs Jets
Wasn’t the Redskins game in week 16 2009 on SNF though? so thats 5 games…
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Redskins, Packers, Eagles, Jets, Eagles, Giants and I think there was one more in there
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
maybe its 6 not 7
but still, a staggering amount of consecutive losses on NBC
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
it is
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
oh ok you are right
Romo got hurt on MNF, not SNF. And we did play the Eagles on SNF that year I think.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
that would be bigham........lol
TARHEEL PAUL - January 1, 2012
boo
it was on bbv first!
thebigham - January 1, 2012
If his hand if F'd and can't pass,, you have to put McGee in...
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
you
never
put
mcgee
in
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
+1
I think you try to get a running game going and hope that
1) it takes a while for the Giants to realize the pass isn’t a threat
2) Romo can tough it up enough to make a couple plays and get the win
redandy - January 1, 2012
I'm slowing dying while the minutes tick by
The Loco Llama - January 1, 2012 via mobile
glass half full look at it...
our season is still alive as we speak.
GonzoBallSHU - January 1, 2012
In case of the worst, where would we be in the draft order?
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
14th
GonzoBallSHU - January 1, 2012
yep 14th
a fine place to pick
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I have no idea
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
are they wearing the blue's, worst idea ever
juniorb - January 1, 2012
not our decision, home team gets to decide
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
They're wearing white. You guys aren't watching?
GonzoBallSHU - January 1, 2012
yeah idk where the rumors came from, I saw white
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Thanks, hoping for much lower :)
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Hand looks like a blimp, but looks like he's throwing it well and pain free.
Worried about fumbles though.
GonzoBallSHU - January 1, 2012
Right..you can see a lot of Shotgun snaps tonight
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
and hopefully some sort of running game
I’d love to see them take a little pressure off Romo, you know the pass rush is going to be coming like crazy.
redandy - January 1, 2012
keep it @ 24 or under D..and we will have a great chance
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
winner of this plays ATL
I think we would destroy them at home
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Worried about their WRs against our secondary
But I like our pass rush against their line and our offense would have a field day
CowboyWay - January 1, 2012 via mobile
other than that, I would like our chances
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I would take my chances with that!
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I hope the team doesn't have the same attitude that im seeing here on BTB
I know its tough guys. We’ve all been let down so much this season. I know Tony’s hand looks like the marshmellow puff mans hand but we have to believe gosh darn it.
If you stop believing then you are no better than any player on the team that has given up. As fans, we can’t control anything about the game. But we can control our faith in the team. They are in a hostile place and they need all the support and faith that we can muster up, even if we aren’t there.
All we need is a little William Wallace Brave Heart belief.
FFFFFFFFRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!

Only thing I want is a win and a spot in the playoffs
regaberto - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Chin up boys
Everything broke our way in today’s games. We moved up 4 spots in the draft to #14 if we lose.
If we lose this game all is not lost, we have great draft position and ~20 million in salary cap next year.
Everything is going to be okay.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
and if we win we get a home playoff game
We’re in a fortunate position. Just enjoy tonight.
