The wait is almost over and we'll soon know our fate - more games in the playoffs or resigned to the offseason for 2012. In the meantime, enjoy the early games from the NFL.
want us to come over for dinner after the Broncos game. Part of me wants to be over there with everyone with my Romo jersey on to celebrate the BIG win. Part of me wants to send the wife and son over there and lock myself in the house and watch the Cowboys game by myself. What would you guys do?
To do whatever I wanted because I tend to do what the C.O. says too. She understands the importance of this game and knows I could be a real grumpy @hole if things don’t go right.
I think food may be the deciding factor.
I am too nutty and passionate during the game
I swear and say some of the most ungodly things, me and god have an understanding that I dont mean much of what I say
if Spencer or Sensabaugh heard what I said about them during games they might cry and get a restraining order
Brace for the Worst
Hate to be negative so early, but I have seen the end of the season do or die game too often lately, and that outcome has not only been a loss, but a beat down!
I for one wonder why the Giants dont wear those god-awful red jerseys anymore
is it b/c we beat them everytime they did? Is that why we have to wear our Blue jerseys. since some believe it’s cursed or something? Or is it that the Giants play so bad at home that if they wear their away jerseys it will give them a mental boost or something?
We wear white at home because Tex wanted the home crowd to see more colors. To see what the NFL has to offer instead of always seeing our blue and the other team in white.
Most teams wear their colors for their home crowd so therefore when we go on the road we wear white too.
It is the home teams choice to wear what jersey, on some occasions in September a team like the bucs might decide to wear white to force us to wear the blues which might be hotter.
Tex was a marketing genius and reason why our uniform is the most recognizable in NFL
But guys Throwbacks are always the ALT jersey. The team decide what their alt will for the year during the offseason. The pats don’t wear a throwback normally they just have a shiny silver alt, as we know the giants have the reds usually, the eagles, and cardnials favor the black style mostly as their alt too.
Some people buy into that notion. I agree the blues are awesome. From a fashion perspective they are definitely a better “outfit” than the mismatched whites.
Justv having lunch in my room at the hotel. Will head over to the stadium about 5pm. Romo’s hand is good to go. I do not think he will have any problems.
Four teams the last 10 years by my estimate have made completely 100% unexpected SB runs. The 2001 Patriots 2003 Panthers and 2007 Giants. The 2006 Colts had a humongous defensive turnaround, but they had Bob Sanders get healthy.
Really, in the last 5 years the only outlier is the Giants and that team had a far better regular season D than we do.
But how many times have people been saying this team is a year away? Since 2005? 2006? You are always a year away until you finally win it then you aren’t.
And MAYBE 2008 despite the way the year ended – we contended with and nearly beat the two AFC Championship teams in December. If Romo doesn’t go down that year who knows what happens.
But since then? No. The OL was a problem in 2009 and the defense has been a catastrophe since then.
We had a very good record, but had two of the wildest Harry Houdini improbable wins against mediocre teams I’ve ever seen. If we’d lost them like we should have, we would have been 11-5, which is good but not championship class. Our defense that year was soggy, and once Owens got hurt our offense went south and hasn’t been at that level since.
the OL has got to fend of that front 4 of the Giants, keep Romo upright and open holes for FJ and 23. Austin, Robinson and Dez have to make those 3rd and LONG grabs because you KNOW they’re gonna have 3rd and long most of the day.
As for the D….PLEASE try and keep that long ball to a minimum. Maybe HIck’s hamstring will limit the land grabs. Lee and Ware have to keep Eli, Bradshaw and Jacobs in check. IF Ware can put pressure on Eli and IF we can keep the runs to short gains and make ’em go 3 and out all day.. then WE HAVE A CHANCE.
This is IF the weather cooperates and doesn’t rain or snow….AND if Romo’s hand is really ok.
Otherwise…it may be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong day and then the Offseason and the Draft will be on the radar.
I got Cowboys plaid pants, basically PJ’s, gonna rock them and my new Cowboys robe wait for it wait for it WITH A HOOD!
and it has like white lines on the sleeves like a jersey
its dope
love Christmas
see the Niners. They kept drafting players in all position groups. And with the very mediocre Alex Smith and a real coach now look. Jerry just doesn’t operate that way. He isn’t smart like that.
Jenkins is our best player in the secondary and its not even close and he isnt a ballhawk
he is more of a cover corner, he isnt going to have a lot of picks and thats fine, you need a cover guy
I’d like ALL of my secondary to be ball hawks. The Saints D certainly has or did have the mentality that HEY….that’s OUR ball and we’re gonna take it away from you! Need that badly on the Cowboys D.
the Saints are the best offense in this league and by far the most complete. Week in week out they’re scoring 30+ and putting up outrageous yard totals.
Aaron Rodgers may be the best qb, but he has an average oline and little running game. The Saints have it all.
favorite actor: Gary Oldman
jersey number: resembles his age
best usage in the scheme: playing 20 yards back off the line in zero coverage
injury prone area: his hips and groin, because he has the body of a 80 year old
But this Giants team has so many holes. Eli’s played worse at home, as has the whole team for that matter. Their D is a mess regardless of how they did against Matt Sanchez. We are mostly healthy and Romo has been incredible the last two months. The greatest indicator as to who wins playoff games its which qb is playing better and that is Romo.
I may be just getting my hopes up, but I think at the very least it will be competitive. My biggest concern is that Ihave zero faith we can stop Eli in a 2 minute drill situation – that guy has scored many many times in that situation against us in his career.
when the refs feel like it. One thing about referring that has changed the most from when I was a kid is that there isn’t the same consistency game to game, or even within a game.
I am nervous
too many areas of concern right now, one is the left side of the line, Free has been suspect and I know he is good but damn, and Dockery sucks
the secondary concerns me
the pass rush concerns me
Romo’s health concerns me
Felix’s health concerns me
I’ll root like hell for this team, but I feel like a win (with the possibility of another in round 1) may long term hurt this franchise – I’m not sure we get to a SB talent level without a top 15 pick this year. Romo + Ware + Ratliff + Witten only have so much time left.
On the other hand, I think I’ll puke if the Giants win this division.
is way too many questions at too many positions. Unpredictable and inconsistent play all around. Despite all the many close losses, they are what their record says they are. Why should we expect anything different?
and Fitzpatrick was considered they smartest QB, AND they were thought to be actual contenders by ESPN, NFL Net, CBS, and FOX? They crapped the bed on that one. lol.
I can almost stomach a loss if we get beat by a better team. The losses where we have breakdowns mentally, schematically, or through poor execution ate the ones that make me want to spork (yes I said SPORK) myself in the eye, violently!
who would you guys rather see dallas play in the wild card... Lions or Falcons
I like our chances vrs both. Would love another shot vrs detriot to avenge that loss earlier this year. Atlanta plays so slow and methodical. They dont scare me, although they have a very balanced attack unlike detriot.
I know Im way ahead of myself but Im also thinking about who would have a better chance to upset the saints at home, which would send dallas to san fran for the divisional round. Detriot played the saints OK earlier this year whithout Suh. Atlanta just got run out of the building
true but Newman and any of our cbswould look allot better with a pass rush
last week in the first half Vick had all day, no way Newman or anyone can cover that long. 2nd half was a way different story once Ware and Rat woke up
I am just saying, yeah its great for the first guy but in the end itll be the guy who has the most who gets the glory. And ware could do it, hell know what he needs to get it too.
he gets all his sacks on the road.. at one point i think he had 13 sacks on the road and 3 at home.. or some extremely skewed number like that. i blame the home field disadvantage.
From T-New last night?
I’m a big TNew fan. I think he’s been a damn good player for us for quality years. Has his time come? Sure it has but I prefer to thank him for his time rather than berate him for his body not letting him play at the high level he once was capable of. Regardless, here is what he said in twitter last night:
"@terencenewman1: Jason Garrett just gave the greatest speech i’ve heard in all my years playing football."
he got overlooked during his best years because he never had that many ints. True professional. Hope he steps infront of an Eli throw and catches it this time
I am a CU alumnus and when Kansas State came to Boulder I was very impressed with Newman. The KState fans that travelled to that game chanted, Terrance…Newman…. Every time he touched the ball or defended a pass. I was glad they drafted him, loved his effort, and am sad his skills have declined.
The Vikings in 98, Rams from 99-01 and Pats in 07 were the last 3 teams to be historically great offenses. They have had some decent playoff success – 3 SB appearances, 1 win. We’ll see how the Saints do
The only record football fans care about is the most superbowl wins.
No one cares who has the most passing yards or tds or any of that stuff, because its a team sport and it takes a lot more than that to win the ultimate prize.
Cowboys have the 2nd most Superbowl wins and the most appearances
BSPN gave Sanchez all kinds of credit for winning multiple overtime games last year. But good QBs don’t go to overtime. If you’re going to overtime it’s because you’re bad.
Now the averages are evening out. Now he’s playing as bad at the end of games as he does at the beginning.
I think its fair to say his playoff performances were fluky. But Ben’s 2006 run (where he had a couple great games) seemed like a fluke at the time, and it turns out the guy is that good. Same with Brady.
Overtime games are inherently lucky, you can lose without getting the ball. But he played quite well in the playoffs last season, especially in comparison to how crappy hes looked the last couple weeks.
he’s so very average… without that crushing defense and dominant run game he’s not gonna make it. ialways hated how he got so much credit for the two AFC championship trips
The playoffs are what we want, but it sure doesn’t hurt that our draft pi will be that much better if the Cowboys lay an egg (which seems to happen more often than not this time of year)
Seven and a half more hours.
The wait is agonizing.

Ive never believed in a curse.
but I havent been watching them for as long as some of yall so maybe I just havent noticed it.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
There isn't a curse. The blues , the best uni in all of pro football.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
I personally like the throwbacks and think they should wear them more.
but thats just me.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
They should wear the blues as much as they wear the white now.
Or wear the white on the road like it should be.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
You are crazy, the fact we wear white at home is a tradition, homage, just simply amazing.
Thank you Tex.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
just the opposite
Hate those god-awful things…..
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
meaning the Retros....
sooooooooooo cheesy.
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
I may like them just because you dont see them but once a year.
But I am surprised they dont sport the Navy Blues more, I dont think they wore once in 2010, but I may be mistaken.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
Sigh.. how can you be a come fan and not know the uni tradition
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I get the Whites at home thing.
just surprised it isnt used more. I get that the white is more recognizable to many more people and so forth.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
History lessen time

Tex was a marketing genius and reason why our uniform is the most recognizable in NFL
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Could be worse, could have Denvers throwbacks, or the Eagles throwbacks.
Those look like someone puked on a jersey and they said, “looks good”
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
Or the Steelers throwbacks. That's some ugly sh*t.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
I like the steelers throwbacks.
It changes every year.

no the Eagles throwbacks are dope
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Those blue and yellow they have?
or the Kelley Green ones?
I pray you mean the KG ones.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
the kelly green ones
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
you can only wear your alts 2x a year
thebigham - January 1, 2012
The blues are not an alternate.
football mensa - January 1, 2012

I am referring to our alts/throwbacks

Saints may be peaking just in time.
football mensa - January 1, 2012

Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
too bad you don't win it in week 17
Anything can happen chia. Remember what the 12th man did last year
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I just think the saints are the best team in the NFL right now
that defense all it has to do is step up for like 3-4 games and with that offense and home field
idk
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Agree.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
yeah but the Colts always said that, it only takes one game for the defense to be their crappy self to knock them out.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
the Saints have major talent on that D
Porter, Jenkins, Harper, Jordan, Ellis, Smith, Rogers, Vilma
that is a solid unit
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
And Vilma isn't playing.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
yup
idk I just see their front 4 and they get pressure, and they have playmakers in that secondary
I would take Malcom Jenkins and Tracy Porter over a lot of CB/S in the NFL
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
In a heartbeat. Saints d isn't fired up.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
Thats find I am going bold here
Ravens, Pats, Saints, Packers none of them will be playing in the Superbowl
thebigham - January 1, 2012
wow none of them?
so you either have the Cowboys or what the Falcons or Giants from the NFC
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012

thebigham - January 1, 2012
yeah I wish but I am just gonna keep it real
the Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl this year
next year if we do the right personnel decisions, yes
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
see that thinking is stupid.
We won’t have the personnel to win one until we actually win one you know.
Anything is possible that is how to approach it.
You will always be a year away until you win it then you aren’t.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I am a realist
the Cowboys don’t have the defense to win a super bowl right now
they don’t
its not stupid
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
And if they win a superbowl this year, would that mean they had a defense to win one?
See what I am saying? Its the NFL, not NBA. Anything can happen.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
anything can happen
but usually doesn’t.

It’s not possible for them to win a superbowl this year or next year. They don’t have enough talent.

No I am not talking about the rams.
But how many times have people been saying this team is a year away? Since 2005? 2006? You are always a year away until you finally win it then you aren’t.

Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
haha, Ill be eating candy out of my new cowboy football candy dispenser
And holding onto my brand new cowboy football
You can’t find them in my next of the woods, I love it and have needed an offical one for a while
thebigham - January 1, 2012
damn
I cant eat candy anymore but that is pretty dope
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
seriously this terry cloth robe TERRY CLOTH! HAHAHAHAHA its real comfortable
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
ditto.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
I'll break out
blue jersey tonight too.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
who ya rocking?
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
but I don't have a blue
Romo jersey and I wanna show Romo love. Conundrum…
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
I only have one Romo and its blue
ebay 50 dollar joint, looks real though
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I'm wearing the blue Romo jersey right now.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
good choice
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Only other blue jersey I own is #31
R. Williams. Anyone want to buy it?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
I have a white Roy Williams 31
such a bad investment, but every player from that era was a bad jersey investment
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Leaning towards my white Austin jersey
Antonio S - January 1, 2012 via Android app
Really New England...lol. wow.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
Awesome int. That is what the Saints d does.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
cough yup cough yup
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
What was Newton thinking on that one???
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
WOW....great INT in the end zone for the Saints
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
We never see plays like that on Dallas.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
See: Jerry Jones is a bad General Manager fanpost
haha perfect example right there.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
BED I am with u
football mensa - January 1, 2012
who picked it off
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
sophmore patrick robinson
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
wasnt a big fan of him but he has ballhawk skills
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
That's the way I feel about a lot of Saints players
not my favorite guys in a draft but they draft starters
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
yeah they manage to start for them
if you notice, a lot of their picks were secondary and front 4
areas we need to focus on, areas we should have been focusing on
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
BED to further your point....
see the Niners. They kept drafting players in all position groups. And with the very mediocre Alex Smith and a real coach now look. Jerry just doesn’t operate that way. He isn’t smart like that.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
yep, good point!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
nope
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Our defense doesnt have that mentality.
Only time we get picks is if hit them in the hands.
Even then it isnt always a INT, exhibit A: Newman in Giants game 1.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
we dont have ballhawks
Jenkins is our best player in the secondary and its not even close and he isnt a ballhawk
he is more of a cover corner, he isnt going to have a lot of picks and thats fine, you need a cover guy
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Im ok if the corners arent ball-hawks. Dont need them to be.
I just wish we had a safety that was. Like a Ed Reed or Palamalu.
Our ballhawk is Sean Lee. Which is awesome and odd.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
its sad that our ballhawk is a LB
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
very much disagree
I’d like ALL of my secondary to be ball hawks. The Saints D certainly has or did have the mentality that HEY….that’s OUR ball and we’re gonna take it away from you! Need that badly on the Cowboys D.
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
our mentality is not to get burnt
sad but true
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
younger defensive talent will help a lot
Antonio S - January 1, 2012 via Android app
god yes
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
ugh, only because I DON NOT want Spitt to get home field in the A.F.C or a better chance at it.
also, if tonight does not go the way we want it, then for me ANYBODY except NY, Pitt and S.F.for the S.B.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
lol look at that cat!
looks like my main coon cat Winston
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
a maine coon is a breed of cats by the way
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
yeah, she did not like the hat deal! lol
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
she looked pretty pissed lol
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
So man Buf got shafted losing Freddie.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I got shafted
right along with them. Fred had me rolling through FF league then I got ousted in 1st round by a 6 seed.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
I'll just say it
the Saints are the best offense in this league and by far the most complete. Week in week out they’re scoring 30+ and putting up outrageous yard totals.
Aaron Rodgers may be the best qb, but he has an average oline and little running game. The Saints have it all.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
and on that note
Brees just threw a godawful red zone interception.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Sproles had made a huge difference for them.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
huge
the Chargers need to draft Lamichael James
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
yes, its really just not fair
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
New Orleans is gonna host us in the NFC championship game
Antonio S - January 1, 2012 via Android app
Ryan: Newman, you play 20 yards back because you suck
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
-41
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
Terence Oldman
favorite actor: Gary Oldman
jersey number: resembles his age
best usage in the scheme: playing 20 yards back off the line in zero coverage
injury prone area: his hips and groin, because he has the body of a 80 year old
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
LOL
Antonio S - January 1, 2012 via Android app
Ryan: Why did I try to recruit Nnamdi with Newman, what the hell was I thinking
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
We held the Eagles to 20 points last game..
That is improvement, I see it continuing.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I see Oldman getting worse game by game
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I like our chances today
I think its going to be a very different game from the first one.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
I dont
I want to win, I just don’t see it happening
I have no faith in this team right now
I hope I am totally wrong
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
If we were playing Philly, NO or GB
I would be with you.
My biggest concern is that Ihave zero faith we can stop Eli in a 2 minute drill situation – that guy has scored many many times in that situation against us in his career.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
would take that in a heartbeat.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Brees throws an INT
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
But I thought Romo was the only one that threw INTs
Brees must be a terrible QB!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
LOL. I almost said that, but you beat me to it.
Fernie67 - January 1, 2012
Go Bears!!!
14 points in 1 minute. Win your way up the draft order.
Now Tennessee, you need to win too.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I'm going to spend today rooting for teams to lose
only to see the Giants reap the benefits.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Good pass by Newton, hope Olsen is ok
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
that was PI
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Can't believe the ref was right there and missed the call. Wtf...
Mr._Mulligan - January 1, 2012
The defender didnt have a blue star on his helmet.
Had that been Jenkins, the flag would still be in the air.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
thats because of last year
once you get flagged for PI alot, which Jenkins did in 2010, that label stays with you
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
only PI
when the refs feel like it. One thing about referring that has changed the most from when I was a kid is that there isn’t the same consistency game to game, or even within a game.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
yeah I agree
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
That INT was a blatant PI by Philly. No call.
If thats the Cowboys the ref us throwing the flag before the ball gets there.
slimbig - January 1, 2012
My wife says I'm "pent up" for this game tonight....lol
any of yours said anything like that to you?
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
tell her to do something about it? lol
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I am not even pumped up like I should be
I am nervous
too many areas of concern right now, one is the left side of the line, Free has been suspect and I know he is good but damn, and Dockery sucks
the secondary concerns me
the pass rush concerns me
Romo’s health concerns me
Felix’s health concerns me
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
and other than all that they're okay. lol
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
lol
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I hear you Chia....seems like too much going against us...that said...you never know
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
like I said, I hope I am wrong
because it reminds me of 2008 Philly game
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
I'm zen about this game
If we lose, we get good draft position. If we win we go to the playoffs. Win-win.
(so long as Philly, Tenesee, Chicago, Seattle, and San Diego win)
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I'm trying to be
I’ll root like hell for this team, but I feel like a win (with the possibility of another in round 1) may long term hurt this franchise – I’m not sure we get to a SB talent level without a top 15 pick this year. Romo + Ware + Ratliff + Witten only have so much time left.
On the other hand, I think I’ll puke if the Giants win this division.
This situation seems heavy with irony to me.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
well....the problem with this team
is way too many questions at too many positions. Unpredictable and inconsistent play all around. Despite all the many close losses, they are what their record says they are. Why should we expect anything different?
Cowboy88 - January 1, 2012
cmon and the giants are in the same position?
They have won 2 games out of 7!
thebigham - January 1, 2012
same its like im playing i have butterflies and everything.
my wife laughs at me because of this all the time.
yehti - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Turnover Tenesee
Go Tennessee, march down for a TD!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Touchdown Titans!
Go Titans!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Chia with past and recent failures of this team there is no reason to be overly excited.
It will be fun to watch the game . Good enough.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
Am I the only one that thinks
‘Touched" is just a supernatural spin off of ’24’ by the looks of it?
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012

Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Fox: Keifer, we give you 20 million, you play the same Jack Bauer character, except you run around with a little boy and fight ghosts
Keier: Deal
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
Keifer: Can I still drink on set and do the bank of america adds?
Fox: yes
Archie Barberio - January 1, 2012
WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!

Heheheh
Rufiou - January 1, 2012

Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
root for Giants today?
yehti - January 1, 2012 via mobile
brown paper bag 20 million I am sorry
but there isn’t much I wouldn’t do for that, if anything.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
im with you
no homo but i would do extremely homo things for 20 mil… im having a hard time thinking of what i WOULDNT do for that much. maybe kill my mom. maybe…
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
pfft she would want me to do it.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
exactly and ill watch every second of its short lived series haha
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Bills fans are crapping their pants right now.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
All 10 of them.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
remember when they were 5-0
and Fitzpatrick was considered they smartest QB, AND they were thought to be actual contenders by ESPN, NFL Net, CBS, and FOX? They crapped the bed on that one. lol.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
Then they gave him a new contract? That's when it all fell apart.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
no, they lost freddie.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
They were falling apart before that.
liquidblake - January 1, 2012
Yeah, it was before Freddie.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Just play , hard and play smart and if we lose, then we lose with no excuses. That's all I can ask for.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
amen
I can almost stomach a loss if we get beat by a better team. The losses where we have breakdowns mentally, schematically, or through poor execution ate the ones that make me want to spork (yes I said SPORK) myself in the eye, violently!
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
*are not ate
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
The Giants aren't a better team.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
But...but...but...ESPN...
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
but will they be on this day
I think not too. We’ll see.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
Best team doesn't always win, that's for sure.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Terrance Newman said that Jason Garrett gave a speech to the team yesterday
that was the best he has heard in all his years playing football.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
Too bad that speech can't make Tburn a good player.
football mensa - January 1, 2012
TNew sucking up trying to keep his job?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Sadly, it will be the last one he hears from Garrett, ha ha.

chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
yeah it's a good one but...

CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
Is it me or (except for S.F,),the NFC playoff teams D's are not that good .
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
I agree
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Anyone see the flag called for the hit on Brady? What a joke.
WayneLaR - January 1, 2012
Practice for his acting career.

Forgive me if this was talked about in this post already but
are the cowboys wearing blue today? I havent seen anything offical but rumor is the giants are wearing white
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
yes
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I heard that too. Gints pulling out all of the stops....lol
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
yeah. Although I like our blue.
I’ve never belived in the jinx. If theres a jinx its when the giants wear red or blue at home.
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
who would you guys rather see dallas play in the wild card...
Atlanta just got run out of the building
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
Detroit, payback.
chromecowboy - January 1, 2012
I would take Atl in a minute. Thier passing game does not scare me as much as Det. does
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
Uhh, I do not want to see Newman covering Roddy White or Julio Jones. *Shudders*
slimbig - January 1, 2012
true but Newman and any of our cbswould look allot better with a pass rush
last week in the first half Vick had all day, no way Newman or anyone can cover that long. 2nd half was a way different story once Ware and Rat woke up
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
I am not sure who I want Newman covering.....
maybe Dez Bryant next year after the Cowboys cut the stupid punk
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
would you rather see him "covering" Megatron??
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
thats what jenkins is for
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Damnit Bears and Titans
We need you to win! Stop sandbagging for playoff spots!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
lol
they are still doing ok….
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
INT NICE!
GO BEARS!!!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Jared Allen is sitting on the edge of the record, needs half a sack to tie.
Aaron Burtram - January 1, 2012
must be nice for him facing Josh Mccown
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
As terrible as this Bears O-line is he'll beat the record
Every time the QB drops back he gets sacked
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
the all time record??
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Yeah, he's going to break Strahan's record
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
NOOOO!!!!
THATS HORSE CHIT!!!
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
I'm not sure Marc Colombo isn't a better tackle than the guy the Bears are rolling out there
He’s playing the worst I’ve seen in a long time and the Bears are refusing to give him any help.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Ware could break it too!
thebigham - January 1, 2012
but it wont be as sweet if jared breaks it too especially if hes the first
im sure no one will make a big deal of brady breaking marino’s cause its already done. not fair!
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
unless brady gets more..
thebigham - January 1, 2012
idk..
looking pretty sketchy. brees looks like he;s gonna get 400 today.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
lol
more like 450 if Carolina can pick up some quick points.
I would not want to have to go to the Superdome this year
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
oh i know
I am just saying, yeah its great for the first guy but in the end itll be the guy who has the most who gets the glory. And ware could do it, hell know what he needs to get it too.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Yeah, Ware is going to get 5 sacks?
I highly doubt it after he didn’t get any 3 weeks ago.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
welll duh
he gets all his sacks on the road.. at one point i think he had 13 sacks on the road and 3 at home.. or some extremely skewed number like that. i blame the home field disadvantage.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
that makes zero sense
thebigham - January 1, 2012
What doesn't make sense?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
since last game he got 0 sacks that means he cant get five this game...
thebigham - January 1, 2012
What is going to change?
If they could have done something different to get to Manning the last time, don’t you think they might have tried it?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
a million things have changed.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
I'll bet my house on it.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
of course its not a high probability but the results of the previous game are not reason for that.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Ware will be on SNF
he’ll get the glory if it happens lol.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Jimmy Graham.....BEAST.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012

Can anyone confirm?
TooLegitToQuit - January 1, 2012 via mobile
we are.
confirmed.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Ive looked all over and cant find anything but speculation
allot of people are saying the giants would have had to notify the league way before this week
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
never heard of that.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
the mothership doesnt have anything about the jerseys
they typically would have said something
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
By who?
TooLegitToQuit - January 1, 2012
didja see this tweet
From T-New last night?
I’m a big TNew fan. I think he’s been a damn good player for us for quality years. Has his time come? Sure it has but I prefer to thank him for his time rather than berate him for his body not letting him play at the high level he once was capable of. Regardless, here is what he said in twitter last night:
"@terencenewman1: Jason Garrett just gave the greatest speech i’ve heard in all my years playing football."
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app
+1Huge Newman fan myself
he got overlooked during his best years because he never had that many ints. True professional. Hope he steps infront of an Eli throw and catches it this time
sprewelllatrell - January 1, 2012
I saw him play in college
I am a CU alumnus and when Kansas State came to Boulder I was very impressed with Newman. The KState fans that travelled to that game chanted, Terrance…Newman…. Every time he touched the ball or defended a pass. I was glad they drafted him, loved his effort, and am sad his skills have declined.
CDMac24 - January 1, 2012 via iPhone app

Jared Allen sack
#22
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
1 more sack and he sets the record
Already has 3.5 and they aren’t even in the 4th quarter yet
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
So Ware needs a 5 sack game too.
Sweet.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
could you imagine what kind of damage he could do

I’d prefer the Giants have to deal with all of the media’s wrath.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
What?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
instead of it being divided up between jets and giants failing
he wants the giants to just fail
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Oh. I responded after watching the Dolphins twist the knife. Game over.

Sproles sets all purpose yardage record
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
good god the Saints are setting records everywhere....
Brees, Graham, Sproles
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
set the record for points at home also
and that was like 14+ points ago I think
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Meh it happens
No one really cares about records in football except Superbowl wins.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
well
then I guess we have one worthless team right?
The Vikings in 98, Rams from 99-01 and Pats in 07 were the last 3 teams to be historically great offenses. They have had some decent playoff success – 3 SB appearances, 1 win. We’ll see how the Saints do
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
That would make us 2nd best all time.
Where do you get worthless?
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
ok fine
the Cowboys in the last 15 years are “worthless” then according to bigham.
Happy?
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
According to bigham...
We have the 2nd most. No worthless based on that quote.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
do what?
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
The only record football fans care about is the most superbowl wins.
No one cares who has the most passing yards or tds or any of that stuff, because its a team sport and it takes a lot more than that to win the ultimate prize.
Cowboys have the 2nd most Superbowl wins and the most appearances
thebigham - January 1, 2012
i agree with you (for the most part)
i thought he was disagreeing with you saying superbowls were…… never mind
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Exactly. Every Cowboys fan knows this.
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
what are you talking about?
I never said that.
I don’t mean records as in w/l i mean has most this or most that.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Jets get a stupid call to keep their season alive....
b.s. roughing the passer on 3rd down
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
they need like 3 other teams to lose dont they?
It won’t matter Bengals win and they are in and they will win.
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Sanchez picked at the goal line
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
He really sucks
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
But ESPN was telling me how "clutch" he was last year and how good he is at winning games
All those ‘analysts’ said they’d rather have him than Romo.
How can he be bad? I thought he was the best!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
I was wondering whether good performances in those playoff games would serve as a catapult to regular season success
Brady and Ben’s play improved massively after their playoff runs.
His did not. If anything, hes regressed. Im pretty sure I’d take Matt Moore over him.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
"clutch" is a fake concept
BSPN gave Sanchez all kinds of credit for winning multiple overtime games last year. But good QBs don’t go to overtime. If you’re going to overtime it’s because you’re bad.
Now the averages are evening out. Now he’s playing as bad at the end of games as he does at the beginning.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
well now with hindsight
I think its fair to say his playoff performances were fluky. But Ben’s 2006 run (where he had a couple great games) seemed like a fluke at the time, and it turns out the guy is that good. Same with Brady.
Overtime games are inherently lucky, you can lose without getting the ball. But he played quite well in the playoffs last season, especially in comparison to how crappy hes looked the last couple weeks.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
No revisionist here - I've always throught Sanchez was bad
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
LMAO!
Sanchez is horrible
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
ha.
he’s so very average… without that crushing defense and dominant run game he’s not gonna make it. ialways hated how he got so much credit for the two AFC championship trips
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
good things going for Cowboys draft status....(in case we lose)
Philly winning…
Chi winning…
Ten winning….
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
I'm with you!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
But we won't lose, so shut the hell up!
Mikellie - January 1, 2012
I have no idea whether it will stand
But Jason Taylor just had one crazy career ending touchdown. Unfortunately, it will be called back
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Yeah I was hoping that would stand
Mapmaker - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Jets need onside kick to keep their season alive
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
season over
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Jets bad
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
awesome! I have really grown to hate the jets this season. i dont really know why….i just think sanchez is god awful.
DavidLaFleur - January 1, 2012
I have never been able to stand how the national NY media talks about how amazing Sancheez is
and how bad Romo is.
I’ve thought Sanchez was about the 20th best QB in the league and Romo is top-8.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Griffin entering draft
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
He would have been a fool not to
He’s going to make a ton of money
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
yes he is
That guy is a heck of a player.
Colts officially get 1st pick
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
RG3 is going to be either the #1 or #2 pick of the draft
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
i dont think so
rams wont pick him and he definitely wont go first.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
skins will trade away their team for him
thebigham - January 1, 2012
im hoping the fins do that
but i think that a trade like that will happen a bit later then 2
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Draft will be interesting
I wonder what STL will do.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Griffin is going to be great qb if he can learn the pro offence well.
Rufiou - January 1, 2012
What did you say about a Superbowl guarantee Rex?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
he let his mouth overload his @$$ as usual.
fiverings37 - January 1, 2012
NFL East is going to be hard fight next year.
Seems like everyone has something good to lean on and need just a little to be really good.
Rufiou - January 1, 2012
Allen won't get the record!
Ware has a chance..
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
no way?
Game over?
thebigham - January 1, 2012
yes sir.
threw a pick now they’re killing the clock. game over.
kitten mittens - January 1, 2012
Joe Webb throws terrible Interception
Great draft position for the Cowboys (in the event of a loss) already have secured.
Bears, Titans, and Eagles have now played their away above us.
Worst case scenario is pick #15 with a chance to get into the #13 slot if San Diego and Seattle win.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
texans driving
thebigham - January 1, 2012
Wait, what just happened?
NOOOO Texans have the ball!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Tennessee turnover, not over yet
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
All they had to do was run out the clock!
I’d turned the game off. CRAP!
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012

thebigham - January 1, 2012

Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
how do the records add up to 256 games?...
I hope this isn’t an incredibly dumb question, but given that week 17 isn’t finished, shouldn’t there be less than 256 games in these records?
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
That looks like last year's SoS to me

Birddog26 - January 1, 2012
well if the Cowboys happen to lose....
Chi wins..
Ten wins…
philly wins…
we just jumped 3 teams.
The playoffs are what we want, but it sure doesn’t hurt that our draft pi will be that much better if the Cowboys lay an egg (which seems to happen more often than not this time of year)
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
Happens more than not?
8 wins 7 losses hmm
thebigham - January 1, 2012
i was talking about big late season games....not this seasons record
we haven’t had the best of luck when our season is on the line the last few years.
death of the cool - January 1, 2012
The only thing that's going to change that is if the D goes bat guano crazy on the Gnats O
PasstheSuper Bowl - January 1, 2012
SF clinches 2 seed
NO will be the 3.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
would rather play the 49ers at home than play the Saints at home
somebodyquiet - January 1, 2012
Wait, is there any way we can jump Seattle or Arizona for draft position?
It looks like their SOS is softer than ours.
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
i thought so from requiem's post
http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2011/12/27/2664799/week-17-rooting-interests
his numbers are different from Birddog’s though
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
thats kinda nice
so if we win tonight, the Giants don’t benefit that much when it comes to draft position.
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
I just did the math, I don't think we can jump Seattle or Arizona
Anyone want to double check my math?
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
No, wait, he's right, we can jump Seattle
Blue Eyed Devil - January 1, 2012
Arizona ahead of us now
D’oh.
Cowboys Dominance - January 2, 2012
We cannot pass arizona anymore
so Seattle needs to win that game
foyesboys - January 1, 2012
Will be back on later
Have to packup and head over to the stadium. Take care everyone.
